Do these universities forget they are AMERICAN universities?

Trump Administration Ramps Up Deportations as College Pushes “Know Your Rights” Pamphlets

A prestigious arts college in New York City is under scrutiny for what critics call a disturbing effort to protect foreign students linked to extremist groups like Hamas. Internal communications obtained by Fox News Digital reveal that The Cooper Union is warning international students about deportation risks—while quietly offering legal guidance on how to avoid immigration enforcement.

Cooper Union Email Warns Students Over Protests and Social Media Posts

In a campus-wide message, Associate Dean of Students Grace Kendall and Vice President for Enrollment Troy Kogburn acknowledged recent law enforcement raids at Columbia University involving foreign nationals.

“It is deeply concerning that, over the past week, federal agents have arrested a Columbia University graduate and conducted raids on two of the university’s dormitories,” the email stated.

The message continued, referencing the State Department’s new AI-driven policy to screen student visa holders’ social media for signs of support for Hamas or other terror groups. Students with “less secure” immigration status were urged to be cautious about attending protests or posting politically charged content online.

“Know Your Rights” Pamphlets Distributed on Campus

Instead of fully cooperating with federal authorities, the college chose to distribute “Know Your Rights” flyers—documents often promoted by left-wing activist groups—to help foreign students navigate interactions with law enforcement. The flyers advise students to stay “calm and polite,” refuse searches, and avoid answering questions without a lawyer present.

School officials defended the move, stating:

“Cooper Union does not condone or support any affiliation with terrorist organizations. Our intent was solely to inform students, not to advocate for any particular views or actions.”

But many see this as part of a growing culture of appeasement on college campuses—where radical activism and foreign interests are often prioritized over American safety and national security.

Jewish Students Forced to Hide During Anti-Israel Mob Incident

This isn’t the first time Cooper Union has drawn criticism. In October 2023, just weeks after Hamas launched its brutal terror attack on Israel, Jewish students at the college were forced to take refuge inside a library after being surrounded by a mob of pro-Hamas demonstrators who pounded on doors and windows.

A recent court ruling slammed the school for trying to dismiss a lawsuit from Jewish students, with a Manhattan judge stating:

“These events took place in 2023—not 1943. Title VI places responsibility on colleges and universities to protect their Jewish students… not on those students to hide themselves away in a proverbial attic.”

Trump Administration Leads Strong Response to Campus Extremism

Under President Donald Trump’s direction, immigration enforcement has seen renewed focus. Foreign nationals linked to terrorism or anti-American activity are being deported swiftly and decisively.

Among them:

  • Mahmoud Khalil, spokesman for the radical Columbia University Apartheid Divest campaign, is currently detained in Louisiana as deportation proceedings continue.
  • Dr. Rasha Alawieh, a Brown University professor, was deported after allegedly traveling to Lebanon to attend the funeral of a former Hezbollah chief.

Both cases highlight the administration’s commitment to restoring order, defending American values, and protecting U.S. citizens from the growing threat of foreign-backed campus extremism.

Should American Colleges Be Held Accountable?

As the Trump administration continues to prioritize immigration reform, campus safety, and national security, many are asking: Why are American universities providing cover for individuals with potential terrorist ties?

Are our tax dollars funding institutions that undermine our own country’s safety?
