This prediction has rocked DC.
Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville — once hailed as the “Ragin’ Cajun” of the Clinton years — is back in the headlines with a jaw-dropping prediction. Carville says he’d bet money that a Democrat will win the 2028 presidential election — and that the first move of that administration will be to pack the U.S. Supreme Court with liberal justices.
During his latest Politics War Room podcast, co-hosted with longtime journalist Al Hunt, Carville fielded questions about what Democrats could have done during Joe Biden’s term to stop President Donald Trump from winning a second term. While Hunt brushed off the idea that new “guardrails” could have changed anything, Carville offered a much more radical vision of what’s coming next.
“I’m going to tell you what’s going to happen. A Democrat is going to be elected in 2028. You know that. I know that,” Carville boasted.
Carville Predicts Court Packing and ‘Blue-Ribbon Panels’
Carville warned that once Democrats regain full control, they’ll push a massive expansion of the Supreme Court from nine to thirteen justices.
“They’re going to form a blue-ribbon panel of so-called distinguished jurists,” he said. “They’ll recommend thirteen justices, and a Democratic Senate, House, and president will make it law. They’ll call it an ‘intervention’ to restore public trust in the Court.”
He doubled down, insisting, “I’d bet a lot of money that’s what’s going to happen. A lot.”
To many conservatives, Carville’s comments sound less like a prediction and more like a warning shot — a preview of what the far left may attempt if given another chance at power.
Carville Admits He Was Wrong About 2024 — But Still Doubles Down
Only months earlier, Carville admitted he was dead wrong about the 2024 election, after insisting that then-Vice President Kamala Harris would beat Trump easily. In a January statement, he wrote:
“I genuinely believed Kamala Harris would take the win, but I was mistaken. What matters most now is that we accept our error and focus on understanding exactly why it happened.”
Prior to that defeat, Carville wrote an opinion piece for The New York Times titled “Three Reasons I’m Certain Kamala Harris Will Win.” In interviews with MSNBC, he went further, insisting that Trump had no chance of victory because, in his words, the former president was “completely crazy.”
But despite being repeatedly proven wrong, Carville now claims to “know” that Democrats will take back the White House in 2028 — and immediately go after the Constitution’s highest court.
Why Conservatives Should Pay Attention
Carville’s prediction taps into what many see as the Democratic Party’s long-term plan to reshape America’s institutions. Court packing, federal control of elections, and censorship-friendly “guardrails” have all been floated before — but Carville’s blunt confidence gives the public a glimpse of just how serious the left may be.
With President Trump rebuilding the economy, restoring national pride, and defending America’s constitutional balance, Carville’s comments highlight a deep divide: one side fighting to preserve tradition, the other determined to rewrite the rules.
Bottom Line
James Carville has been wrong before — but his latest statement shows exactly where the Democratic establishment’s ambitions lie. If they can’t win through persuasion, they’ll try to reshape the system itself.
As 2028 approaches, one thing is certain: conservatives can’t afford to ignore what the left is openly saying they’ll do next.
