A Texas Democrat is facing major backlash after a reckless attempt to smear a Republican donor spectacularly backfired — leaving her humiliated and a respected doctor furious.
Dem Rep Targets the Wrong “Jeffrey Epstein”
Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), known for her loud outbursts and made-for-TV tirades, took to the House floor claiming she had uncovered a scandal involving “Jeffrey Epstein” donating to former Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY).
But there was just one problem: The donor wasn’t that Jeffrey Epstein.
Instead, Crockett attacked Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a Long Island neurosurgeon with a spotless record, no criminal ties, and no connection whatsoever to the notorious financier who died in a Manhattan jail in 2019.
Crockett pushed her claim anyway — even though the donations she waved around were made in 2020, long after the notorious Epstein had passed away.
The Doctor Fires Back After Dem Smear Attempt Implodes
Dr. Epstein told The Post he’s now considering a perfectly legal, perfectly ironic response: donating to Crockett’s own campaign just to highlight her embarrassing blunder.
“I should donate to Jasmine Crockett and let everyone know she took money from Jeffrey Epstein,” he said, calmly exposing the absurdity of her accusation.
He noted that he’s never had major issues with his name until Crockett used it as a political weapon.
“Until she said something, it was never a problem,” he explained. Though people sometimes react when they hear his name, he usually just shrugs it off.
“Listen, That’s My Name.”
The doctor made it clear he’s tired of being questioned over something as simple as having a common name.
“Listen, that’s my name,” he said. “If my name was Jeffery Dahmer, would that automatically make me a serial killer?”
He added that the only annoying part of this entire debacle is having reporters contact him because a member of Congress didn’t bother to check basic facts.
Crockett’s Attempt to ‘Expose’ Republicans Blows Up in Her Face
Crockett boasted she would “expose it all,” but instead exposed her own ignorance and desperation for a headline.
Her claim has now gone viral — not as a scandal against Republicans, but as another example of Democrats playing political games without doing their homework.
Instead of catching the GOP in wrongdoing, Crockett ended up embarrassing herself, offending an innocent man, and reminding Americans just how sloppy and reckless Washington Democrats can be.
