According to a statement from Biden’s medical team, his prostate cancer was detected after he experienced worsening urinary symptoms. The cancer scored a 9 on the Gleason scale—one of the most aggressive forms—and has metastasized to the bone.

“While this represents an advanced form, the cancer is hormone-sensitive, which allows for treatment options,” Biden’s physicians noted.
