Experts Warn Iranian Sleeper Cells May Have Exploited Open Borders

As tensions with Iran rise, a new alert from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warns that Iranian-backed terrorists may be planning attacks inside the U.S. Experts say the Biden administration’s wide-open southern border may have given them exactly the opportunity they needed.
DHS Terror Bulletin Sparks Alarm After Iran Strike
After the U.S. conducted airstrikes on Iranian nuclear targets, DHS issued a terrorism bulletin warning of possible attacks by Iranian-inspired extremists. The threat isn’t just overseas — it’s here at home.
And according to Jonathan Fahey, a former acting ICE Director under President Trump, Biden’s border crisis has made the situation far worse.
“Absolutely. They weren’t doing real vetting. Over two million gotaways under Biden — and we don’t know who they are,” Fahey told Fox News.
Over 2 Million Illegal Gotaways — And No Accountability
Fahey, who also served as a deputy assistant secretary at DHS, warned that America’s enemies — including Iran — noticed the open border.
“They knew they could send in whoever they wanted. Spies, terrorists, anyone — and there was virtually zero resistance,” he said. “This is what makes the Biden-Mayorkas border policy not just reckless — but dangerous.”
Biden Released Nearly 1,500 Iranians Into U.S.
According to Fox News, nearly 1,500 Iranian nationals illegally entered the U.S. during Biden’s term. Shockingly, about half were quietly released into American communities with no proper vetting.
A DHS bulletin added that if Iran’s leaders call for revenge attacks, violent extremists in the U.S. may act — quickly and independently.
Terrorism Threat Growing Under Biden’s Watch
“Multiple recent terrorist attacks here in the Homeland were driven by anti-Semitic and anti-Israel motives,” the bulletin stated. “The conflict with Iran could push radicalized individuals already inside the U.S. to launch new attacks.”
Former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker says this was an intelligence failure.
“We should have vetted and questioned those Iranians. Instead, the Biden team just let them go. That’s gross negligence,” Swecker said.
Trump Officials Warn of “Biggest National Security Vulnerability Ever”
Tom Homan, who served as Trump’s Border Patrol chief, said the number of gotaways under Biden is staggering — and deeply troubling.
“Over two million people crossed the border and got away. We don’t know who they are or where they are. This is the greatest national security vulnerability this country has ever seen,” Homan warned on Fox News.
Trump’s Zero-Release Policy vs. Biden’s Mass Releases
The contrast is clear. Under President Trump, zero illegal crossers were released in May of his final year. Under Biden, that same month saw over 62,000 illegal immigrants released into the U.S., according to Customs and Border Protection data.
