It just keeps getting worse for Joe Biden.
A major energy watchdog is calling for a sweeping federal investigation into what it sees as one of the most alarming scandals of the Biden era—climate executive orders possibly signed without the president’s knowledge.
Were Biden’s Executive Orders Signed Without His Consent?
Power the Future, a nonprofit focused on protecting American energy jobs, has uncovered serious concerns about eight major Biden climate orders. These weren’t small administrative tweaks—they were radical shifts in U.S. energy policy, including bans on oil drilling and mandates for “net-zero” emissions.
Yet according to the group’s investigation, President Joe Biden never publicly spoke about any of these orders—raising the alarming possibility that they were signed by an autopen while the president remained unaware.
“These are foundational changes to energy policy that should’ve involved public debate. But Biden never even acknowledged them,” said Daniel Turner, founder of Power the Future, in an interview with Fox News Digital.
What Is the Autopen—and Why Does It Matter?
The autopen is a mechanical device that replicates a person’s signature. While legal under certain conditions, its use to sign sweeping executive orders behind closed doors is triggering red flags across Washington.
Power the Future argues this could represent a violation of public trust and a potential abuse of executive authority, especially since some of these orders redirected hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars into green energy projects—without congressional approval or voter consent.
Massive Impact on Energy—and No Accountability?
Among the executive orders under scrutiny:
- A 2023 ban on Arctic oil drilling
- A 2021 net-zero emissions mandate for all federal agencies
- An order to establish “clean energy” AI research centers
- A last-minute offshore drilling ban just before Biden left office
None of these were discussed publicly by Biden. There’s no record of him explaining them to the American people.
“It appears they were drafted and pushed by a tight circle of unelected advisers,” Power the Future stated. “Congress must find out who gave the green light—and who actually signed them.”
Congressional Oversight Urged: Who’s Really Running the Show?
The group has sent formal letters to the DOJ, EPA, Department of Energy, and multiple congressional oversight committees, demanding answers. The letter specifically asks:
- Who drafted these executive orders?
- Who authorized their signing?
- Did President Biden approve them—or was he even aware of them?
The autopen issue has sparked growing concern among Republicans, especially as questions mount over Biden’s mental fitness during his final years in office. A recent book, Original Sin, claims Biden was often left out of key decisions—echoing what many Americans have suspected.
Speaker Johnson, Trump, and the Heritage Foundation All Weigh In
House Speaker Mike Johnson revealed earlier this year that Biden appeared to forget about signing a major executive order on LNG exports during a White House meeting. Meanwhile, a Heritage Foundation report found that a large number of official documents from the Biden administration appear to have been autopen-signed.
Former President Donald Trump went further, declaring that Biden’s autopen-signed pardons are “VOID” and accusing the White House of conducting official business without presidential consent.
“This scandal is bigger than people realize,” Turner warned. “It’s not just about one signature. It’s about who is truly making decisions in the White House—and whether the American people are being misled.”
Energy Freedom Under Attack?
Critics say the Biden administration’s climate agenda crippled American energy independence while funneling money to unproven green tech companies.
“The American fossil fuel industry was punished. Billions were spent on pet climate projects. And we still don’t know who actually signed off on it,” Turner said. “The American people deserve answers.”
