Biden and his cronies are at fault for this.

A senior House Republican is raising the alarm over a growing national air safety crisis — and he’s pointing the finger squarely at the former Biden administration.

Rep. Nick Langworthy, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Aviation Safety Caucus, told Fox News Digital that President Biden’s infrastructure agenda was a squandered opportunity. Instead of targeting critical aviation upgrades, the administration funneled money into diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.

“They chose ideology over infrastructure,” Langworthy said. “That money should have gone to modernizing our air traffic control system — not political experiments.”

Air Travel at Risk: FAA Lags Behind

From 2009 to early 2024, America saw its safest era in commercial aviation history. But this year, serious incidents have rattled public confidence:

  • A near-catastrophic blackout at Newark Liberty International Airport
  • A deadly collision involving a military helicopter and passenger aircraft near Washington, D.C.
  • Chronic staff shortages plaguing air traffic control towers nationwide

Langworthy blames what he calls “reckless spending priorities” and warns that lives are now at risk.

Trump Administration Plans Major Overhaul

While the Biden administration allocated $25 billion to the FAA over five years, critics say the funds weren’t enough — and weren’t focused on modernization.

By contrast, President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy are preparing a bold $12 billion air traffic control overhaul, supported by Republicans in Congress.

“We’re putting safety first,” Langworthy said. “This is a life-and-death issue. The flying public deserves better.”

Air Traffic Controller Shortage Hits Hard

Langworthy says he’s heard the same message across his upstate New York district: “We need more people, and we need modern systems now.”

He’s encouraging young Americans to pursue air traffic careers, noting:

  • Competitive government salaries
  • High job security
  • Critical public service

But the system won’t survive without urgent investment.

Real Infrastructure vs. Social Engineering

Langworthy pointed to “woke infrastructure projects” — including controversial highway tunneling projects — as examples of misplaced priorities.

“They were focused on social engineering. We should’ve been investing in aviation — real infrastructure,” he said.

A Conservative Solution to a National Crisis

Rep. Langworthy vowed to fight for the funding needed to support President Trump’s aviation safety plan.

“This is a top priority. When the president and Secretary Duffy roll this out, we’re going to deliver,” he said. “We can’t afford to take air safety for granted.”

Bottom Line:
✅ Strong conservative leadership is stepping up
❌ Biden-era policies neglected air safety
🛫 America’s aviation system needs urgent modernization — before it’s too late
