Hunter Biden is once again addressing rumors about his political future after a series of high-profile media appearances sparked speculation that he could eventually seek public office.
During a recent interview on Barstool Sports’ “Macrodosing” podcast, Hunter Biden firmly denied that he is preparing to launch a political campaign, even after one of the show’s hosts suggested his recent publicity tour looked like the early stages of a run for office.
The host joked that Hunter’s entrance and growing list of podcast appearances resembled those of a candidate building momentum ahead of an election. Hunter dismissed the idea, saying he has no intention of running for office, while joking that an endorsement from the podcast might change his mind.
Despite his denial, Hunter Biden has become far more visible in recent months. He has appeared on several popular podcasts and interview programs, including NPR’s “Newsmakers,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s podcast, Don Lemon’s show, and “I’ve Had It.” His expanded media presence has fueled continued speculation about whether he plans to remain active in national politics after his father’s presidency.
Newsom even joked during their conversation that Hunter had generated buzz as a potential 2028 presidential contender. Hunter did not indicate any interest in entering the race and instead focused much of the discussion on defending his father’s record.
One of the most discussed moments from Hunter’s recent interviews came when he defended former President Joe Biden’s widely criticized 2024 debate performance. Hunter argued that his father was unknowingly dealing with serious health issues at the time, saying the former president later learned he had advanced prostate cancer that had spread to his bones.
Hunter said he was shocked by his father’s appearance during the debate and claimed he had never seen him struggle in that way before. He also said he has not witnessed a similar episode since.
Questions surrounding President Biden’s health have remained a major topic of political debate since his cancer diagnosis became public, with critics continuing to examine whether warning signs were visible while he was still serving in office.
Hunter also addressed one of the most controversial actions taken during the final months of the Biden administration. Before leaving office, President Biden issued a pardon to his son ahead of Hunter’s sentencing in his federal tax and gun cases, a decision that drew widespread political criticism and renewed debate over the use of presidential pardon powers.
In another recent interview on the “I’ve Had It” podcast, Hunter openly criticized former Attorney General Merrick Garland, calling his father’s decision to appoint Garland the biggest mistake of the Biden administration.
Although Hunter Biden continues to reject suggestions that he plans to enter politics, his growing media presence and repeated appearances defending the Biden administration have kept questions about his long-term political future in the spotlight.
