This was amazing to see.
In the middle of rising tensions in the Middle East, an unexpected ally stepped in to help bring Americans home safely — an aircraft connected to the New England Patriots.
As the joint U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iran entered its seventh day, the U.S. government launched a large-scale effort to evacuate American citizens from the region. Among the aircraft used in that operation was a charter plane bearing the Patriots’ logo and team colors.
The aircraft safely landed Friday morning in Washington, D.C., after transporting Americans out of the Middle East as part of the State Department’s growing evacuation mission.
Patriots Aircraft Used In Emergency Evacuation
Dylan Johnson, Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs, shared a photo on X showing American citizens boarding one of the charter flights leaving the region.
The aircraft — clearly marked with Patriots branding — was part of a series of State Department flights working to safely relocate Americans during the escalating conflict.
Johnson wrote on X that American citizens were boarding one of several charter flights organized by the State Department to bring people home from the Middle East. He added that the aircraft arrived safely in Washington earlier that morning.
Officials confirmed the plane arrived at Dulles International Airport, just outside the nation’s capital.
Patriots Organization Supports Humanitarian Missions
Although the plane carried the Patriots logo, the NFL franchise itself did not arrange or fund the evacuation flight.
However, a source told Fox News Digital that the organization encourages the charter company operating its aircraft to make the planes available for important missions when the team is not using them.
According to the source, the Patriots support allowing the planes to be used for humanitarian efforts and missions that serve the national interest whenever possible.
The evacuation flight marked the second charter plane carrying Americans from the Middle East to land at Dulles International Airport as the rescue effort continues.
Thousands Of Americans Returning Home
The evacuation program has already helped thousands of Americans reach safety.
Johnson said approximately 24,000 U.S. citizens have returned to the United States from the Middle East since February 28. That number does not include Americans who have temporarily relocated to other countries or those still traveling back to the United States.
The operation remains ongoing as officials continue coordinating transportation for citizens who want to leave the region.
Trump Praises State Department Rescue Efforts
President Donald Trump highlighted the evacuation effort in a message posted on Truth Social, saying the United States is quietly moving large numbers of Americans out of the Middle East.
Trump wrote that the United States is currently working to relocate thousands of people from multiple countries across the Middle East.
Trump added that the evacuation effort is being carried out quietly and efficiently, praising the State Department and Secretary Marco Rubio for their work.
The administration has emphasized that the safety of American citizens remains the top priority as tensions continue in the region.
State Department Hotline For Americans In The Region
Officials are urging Americans currently in the Middle East who need assistance leaving the area to contact the State Department immediately.
A 24-hour emergency hotline has been established to help coordinate evacuation travel and provide guidance.
Americans needing help can call:
+1-202-501-4444
State Department officials say evacuation flights will continue as long as necessary to ensure Americans who want to return home have a safe way to do so.
