Clinton Calls Out Trump

Former President Bill Clinton publicly criticized recent federal law enforcement actions on Sunday, weighing in on a fatal shooting in Minneapolis and President Donald Trump’s efforts to reverse immigration policies implemented under former President Joe Biden.

In a post shared late Sunday evening on X, Clinton released a written statement describing what he characterized as a troubling period for the country, arguing that current decisions could have long-term consequences for American civil liberties.

“Throughout a lifetime, there are only a handful of moments when the choices we make shape the course of our history,” Clinton wrote, adding that the nation is now facing one of those moments.

The statement, which was shared as an image attached to the post, opened by condemning what Clinton called “disturbing scenes” taking place in Minneapolis and other communities nationwide. He suggested that recent federal immigration enforcement actions have sparked public concern and controversy.

Clinton alleged that masked federal agents have carried out arrests in residential neighborhoods, workplaces, and public areas. He also claimed that individuals observing or recording law enforcement activity were detained or mistreated. In his statement, Clinton referenced the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, asserting that both were killed during recent incidents tied to enforcement activity.

According to Clinton, the situation was preventable and escalated due to what he described as misleading statements from government officials and increasingly aggressive enforcement strategies. He further alleged that federal authorities had interfered with investigations being conducted by local officials.

Clinton warned that Americans risk permanently losing freedoms if decisive action is not taken, framing the moment as a test of the nation’s commitment to constitutional principles.

“If we give up our liberties after 250 years, we may never get them back,” he wrote. He concluded by urging Americans who believe in the country’s democratic system to speak out and defend what he described as the foundational principle of “We the People.”

The remarks quickly generated strong reactions online, particularly from conservatives who disputed Clinton’s account of events and defended the Trump administration’s approach to immigration enforcement and public safety. Following a surge of criticism, replies on Clinton’s X account were disabled.
