The Trump administration has launched a new holiday website, MerryChristmas.gov, marking another high-profile effort by the White House to restore traditional Christmas messaging and highlight America’s shared national heritage.
The new website is designed as a 12-day feature series showcasing moments of American design, innovation, and public service connected to the federal government’s role in building the nation.
The site explains that the 12-day feature will showcase examples of American design, innovation, and public projects backed by the federal government that played a role in shaping the country, offering a seasonal reminder of what Americans can accomplish together.
Honoring American History and Public Achievement
The website officially debuted Sunday with a spotlight on the Works Progress Administration (WPA) poster program, a historic initiative launched during the Great Depression.
At a time when Americans were struggling economically, the federal government employed artists to create encouraging and patriotic artwork meant to boost morale and promote public programs.
According to the site, the Federal Art Project’s poster program focused on themes such as national parks, public health, education, and cultural events. Its bold designs and straightforward messaging helped define how the government communicated with citizens during the 20th century.
One featured poster promotes American parks and travel, using deep blue imagery to frame a cave entrance — an example the site describes as among the most recognizable federal designs of the era.
Daily Updates Through Christmas Day
Additional government highlights will be released each day through December 25, according to Fox Digital.
The site also includes interactive features such as live weather tracking at both the North Pole and the White House, adding a festive and family-friendly touch to the project.
Fulfilling Trump’s Promise to “Bring Back Christmas”
The launch aligns closely with President Donald Trump’s long-standing promise to restore traditional Christmas language and celebrations, a theme he emphasized throughout the 2024 campaign.
Trump has repeatedly argued that Christmas was sidelined under previous administrations in favor of politically correct and generic “holiday season” messaging.
“We’re going to have Merry Christmas again,” Trump said during the campaign in August 2024. “It was in deep trouble, but we brought it back.”
Now serving his second term, the White House reinforced that message earlier this month with an official post on X showing Trump standing beside a Christmas tree in the Oval Office, accompanied by the words, “We’re saying MERRY CHRISTMAS again!”
Christmas Messaging Extends to Social Media
The administration has also leaned into Christmas-themed messaging across official social media channels, often tying holiday imagery to broader policy goals.
Several posts used familiar Christmas references to highlight border enforcement initiatives and immigration policy. One post encouraged voluntary departures using the CBP Home App, while another used well-known holiday characters to comment on healthcare and immigration issues.
DHS Joins the Holiday Campaign
The Department of Homeland Security also participated, sharing festive images of federal law enforcement officers decorated with holiday lights and Santa hats, alongside seasonal captions emphasizing enforcement priorities.
The campaign included a lighthearted edited video portraying President Trump driving Santa’s sleigh, reinforcing the administration’s effort to combine holiday spirit with policy messaging.
A Clear Message for the Holiday Season
Taken together, the launch of MerryChristmas.gov and the coordinated holiday messaging reflect a broader strategy by the Trump administration to emphasize traditional Christmas values, national pride, and clear policy direction during the holiday season.
For supporters, it represents a fulfillment of Trump’s long-promised effort to restore Christmas to the center of American public life — without apology.
