Trump Points Finger At Biden
President Trump on Saturday took direct aim at the nation’s rising cost of living, saying the so-called “affordability crisis” is the result of failed Biden policies — not the America-First agenda now driving prices downward.
Speaking to voters worried about inflation and everyday expenses, Trump made it clear: “Biden caused this crisis. I’m the one fixing it.”
Trump Calls Out Peter Schiff and Media “Fear Tactics” on Prices
Trump also blasted stockbroker Peter Schiff, who recently appeared on Fox News and predicted rising prices. Trump dismissed Schiff as a “Trump-hating loser who has been wrong before,” saying Americans should not be misled by economic pessimism.
In a Truth Social post, Trump highlighted real-world consumer price drops — especially in gasoline, one of the biggest pain points for families and seniors on fixed incomes.
“Gasoline hit $1.99 a gallon in certain states. Prices are coming substantially down since Biden,” Trump said. “Biden caused the AFFORDABILITY CRISIS. I’M FIXING IT — along with everything else!”
Trump also hinted that Fox News made a mistake by platforming Schiff, urging viewers to “check out the booker who put this jerk on.”
Democrats Created the Crisis — Now They’re Trying to Blame Trump
The Trump administration has faced recent criticism over affordability concerns, but the president says the narrative is a “Democrat con job” designed to distract voters from what actually happened under Biden:
- Soaring grocery bills
- Crippling gas prices
- Record energy costs
- Higher rent and housing shortages
These issues exploded during Biden’s term and were still felt during the record-long government shutdown and Democrats’ 2025 wins — long before Trump’s economic reforms took effect.
Trump Reminds Americans What Biden’s Economy Looked Like
Speaking at the McDonald’s Impact Summit, Trump delivered one of his strongest messages yet on why American voters avoided disaster in 2024.
“You’re so damn lucky I won,” Trump told the crowd.
“Welfare was going up, government jobs were going up, real jobs were going down under Biden. Instead of $20 trillion coming in, you would have had $10 trillion leaving our country.”
Trump continues to argue that Biden’s economic agenda drained America, while his policies are rebuilding consumer confidence, lowering costs, and strengthening the middle class.
Inflation Data Still Lags Behind Trump’s Policies — But Change Is Coming
Commerce Department data for September — gathered before several of Trump’s reforms took hold — shows core inflation at 2.8%, year-over-year. Analysts note this data reflects the tail end of Biden-era price surges, not the early results of Trump’s new trade, energy, and tariff policies.
Trump says the American people will feel the difference in stages as the full impact of the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” rolls out, bringing:
- New foreign investment
- Reshoring of U.S. manufacturing
- Supply chain stabilization
- Lower prices on essential goods
Conservative economists agree these long-term reforms will influence affordability over the coming months.
Polls Show Mixed Opinions — But Trump Allies Say the Best Is Yet to Come
Recent polling shows voters remain divided on the economy:
- 49% say Trump has increased prices
- 24% say he has lowered them
- 17% say the situation is unchanged
- 10% remain unsure
Trump’s approval stands at 42%, with a 55% disapproval rating — slightly lower than last month, before the newest price data and energy reports came out.
But Trump’s supporters argue the polls don’t yet reflect the real-time improvements families are seeing at the gas pump, pharmacy counters, and grocery aisles.
A Clear Message From Trump: The Affordability Crisis Began With Biden — and It Ends With Me
Trump says Americans are finally witnessing the early results of his second-term economic agenda.
Lower gas prices.
Lower drug prices.
Lower energy costs.
And a renewed focus on American workers, not global interests.
He insists the Biden administration ignored seniors, families, and small businesses. His administration, he says, is doing the opposite.
“The affordability crisis started with Biden. It ends with Trump.”
