Trump Doubles Down On Biden’s Autopen
President Donald Trump delivered a stunning announcement Tuesday, confirming that he has “completely terminated” every policy, executive order, proclamation, and legal action signed during Joe Biden’s presidency using the controversial autopen device. Trump declared all such documents null, void, and legally powerless, fulfilling a promise he made just last week.
In a Truth Social post that immediately went viral among conservatives, Trump wrote:
“All documents, executive orders, proclamations, memos, or contracts approved through the unauthorized use of Biden’s autopen are now canceled and carry no legal authority.”
He also issued a direct warning to anyone who benefited from autopen-issued pardons or commutations:
“Any such document is completely terminated and carries no legal effect whatsoever.”
Trump Accuses Biden of Letting Staff — and a Machine — Run the Country
Trump has repeatedly argued that Biden used the autopen for the vast majority of his presidential paperwork, claiming that roughly 92% of Biden’s actions were mechanically signed. Trump has long suggested that Biden’s frequent use of the device showed the American people wasn’t truly at the helm.
For many conservatives, this controversy highlights a bigger issue:
Was Joe Biden capable of carrying out the duties of the presidency, or were unelected staffers controlling major decisions?
Trump has been clear:
“It was basically the staff running the country through a mechanical signature device.”
Legal Experts: Autopen Documents Only Count if Biden Personally Approved Them
Federal defense attorney Ronald Chapman II told Newsmax that Trump does have the authority to void autopen-signed actions if Biden himself never approved them.
According to Chapman:
“If the autopen was used without Biden personally approving it, the signature doesn’t count, and the document carries no legal weight.”
Legal scholars note that autopen use is only legitimate when a president explicitly authorizes each signature. If Biden did not review or approve those actions personally, they could be viewed as abuses of presidential authority.
Even the DOJ Has Admitted: A President Must Authorize Each Signature
A 2005 Justice Department memo acknowledged that a president may legally use an autopen — but only with clear, explicit authorization. Without that approval, the signature does not carry the weight of the presidency.
This is why Trump’s move is so significant:
If Biden’s staff acted without his knowledge, entire categories of federal actions could now be invalidated.
Oversight Committee Already Sounding the Alarm
Republicans on the House Oversight Committee previously raised concerns about:
- Executive orders
- Emergency-status renewals
- Ceremonial proclamations
- Regulatory directives
- Travel-related signatures
- Medical-absence signatures
The Committee reported that numerous autopen-signed documents lacked proof that Biden personally authorized them, and urged the Justice Department to investigate potential misuse of presidential power.
Their warnings now appear more serious than ever.
What Trump’s Move Means for the Country
By voiding every autopen-issued order, Trump has set in motion what could become one of the largest legal corrections in modern presidential history.
This action could affect:
- Biden-era regulations
- Federal hiring policies
- Immigration measures
- Environmental rules
- Emergency declarations
- Federal contracts and certifications
- And possibly pardons and commutations
For countless Americans — especially older, patriotic voters who observed Biden’s declining public performance — Trump’s move signals a return to real accountability, real leadership, and real presidential responsibility.
