Trump has a shocking message.
President Donald Trump issued a forceful national security alert on Saturday, calling on all American pilots and airlines to avoid Venezuelan airspace immediately. His warning comes as concerns grow about increasing military activity and dangerous interference targeting aircraft in the region.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump warned: “To all Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY.”
Trump’s statement mirrors growing fears from U.S. aviation officials. Just days earlier, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) warned that Venezuela’s skies pose a serious and escalating threat due to the country’s unstable political environment and increased military readiness under its socialist leadership.
FAA Issues High-Risk Aviation Alert
The FAA advisory urged carriers to “exercise caution” in the Maiquetia Flight Information Region, citing a worsening security situation and “heightened military activity.”
Officials warned that threats could impact aircraft at any altitude, including takeoff, landing, and time spent on the ground.
Following the FAA’s alert, several international airlines began canceling flights linked to Venezuela. While direct U.S.–Venezuela flights have been suspended since 2019, many foreign carriers still pass over Venezuelan airspace while traveling deeper into South America.
Growing Concern Over Electronic Attacks on Aircraft
What’s driving the urgency? According to the FAA, the region has seen a major spike in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) interference since September 2025. These disruptions—linked to Venezuelan military assets—can affect:
- Navigation systems
- Communication equipment
- Safety sensors
- Flight-tracking systems
Some aircraft reported lingering issues long after leaving Venezuelan airspace, raising concerns that jammers and spoofing equipment could impact planes up to 250 nautical miles away.
For U.S. pilots and airlines, this represents a significant safety and national security risk—one the Trump Administration has repeatedly warned about.
A Clear Message From Trump: U.S. Safety Comes First
Trump’s warning reinforces what many Americans already believe: Venezuela’s regime remains unpredictable and dangerous, and the safety of U.S. citizens must come first.
As instability grows in the region, aviation experts say Trump’s alert may help prevent a potential crisis in the skies—one that could impact pilots, passengers, and critical U.S. interests.
