Trump Making $2 Billion Investment
A Major Investment in Jobs, Safety, and Modern Infrastructure
The Department of Transportation confirmed Thursday that the Trump administration is launching a major $2 billion investment to modernize America’s bus fleets. The funding will be spread across 165 projects in 45 states and Washington, D.C., delivering one of the most significant transit upgrades in years.
The money comes through the Federal Transit Administration’s Bus and Bus Facilities Program and the Low or No Emission Grant Program. According to the agency, this investment will upgrade outdated buses, reduce congestion, improve safety, and make travel more affordable for millions of Americans.
The department also emphasized that this initiative will create thousands of good-paying jobs in communities of every size—urban, suburban, and rural.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy praised the president’s leadership, noting how the administration continues rebuilding the nation’s transportation backbone.
“This is another example of how America is building again under President Trump,” Duffy said. “Buses take Americans to church, school, work, and doctor’s appointments. These grants will make transit safer, more efficient, and more reliable for families nationwide.”
Federal Transit Administration Administrator Marc Molinaro said the upgrades will boost safety, strengthen community connections, and improve overall quality of life.
