This was disgusting.
In a moment that left millions of patriotic Americans stunned, Washington Commanders fans booed President Donald Trump as he honored young men and women enlisting in the U.S. military during the NFL’s “Salute to Service” event on Sunday.
What was supposed to be a proud celebration ahead of Veterans Day quickly turned into another sad example of how far political hatred has spread — even into a moment meant to honor those who defend our freedom.
Trump Honors America’s Heroes — Crowd Turns Ugly
Standing at midfield, President Trump read the names of new military recruits preparing to serve their country. The recruits stood proudly, hands on hearts, as the crowd’s reaction grew mixed — with some cheering, but many booing loudly.
The backlash was immediate. Viewers watching at home called the behavior “disrespectful” and “shameful,” saying that no American should ever jeer the Commander-in-Chief while he honors future soldiers who risk their lives for the United States.
One veteran wrote on social media: “Booing the President is one thing. Booing our troops? That’s crossing a line.”

NFL Player Mocks Trump With Touchdown Dance
Adding fuel to the fire, Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown appeared to mock President Trump by performing his signature dance move after scoring a touchdown. The cheap shot came just before Trump arrived at the stadium, leaving many to wonder if the NFL has truly learned nothing from years of alienating patriotic fans.
The incident reminded many Americans of the kneeling protests that disrespected the flag and divided the league during the Obama years — and once again, it was President Trump standing up for America while the NFL let politics overshadow patriotism.
Trump Responds With Class
Arriving from Mar-a-Lago after a morning of golf and meetings, Trump received a mix of cheers and boos as he entered the stadium in Landover, Maryland. He later joined the FOX Sports broadcast booth, delivering upbeat commentary with Kenny Albert and Jonathan Vilma.
Despite the noise, Trump stayed focused on honoring America’s heroes, saying privately that the event should be about “respecting those who serve — not scoring political points.”
NFL Faces Backlash From Veterans
Veterans groups across social media expressed outrage that the league failed to condemn the disrespectful crowd. Many called for an official apology, while others vowed to boycott future games.
“The NFL used to unite us,” one Marine veteran wrote. “Now it’s just another stage for liberal grandstanding. Veterans deserve better.”
America Deserves Better Than This
Earlier in the week, Commanders president Mark Clouse said, “We are honored to welcome President Trump as we celebrate those who serve.” But for many Americans watching, the NFL’s “Salute to Service” turned into yet another public embarrassment — one that proved the left will politicize absolutely everything, even the troops.
President Trump, however, rose above the hate, standing proudly beside America’s heroes — a moment that reminded millions why he remains a champion of the men and women who protect our freedom.
