Republican Reveals How To End Shutdown

Former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker says there’s no reason Americans should be suffering through another government shutdown — except for the political games being played by Washington Democrats.

In a fiery interview on Newsmax’s “Sunday Report,” Walker, now president of the Young America’s Foundation, said the solution is simple: pass a clean resolution and reopen the government immediately.

“The right answer is to move forward with the bipartisan measure — a clean bill that keeps the government open,” Walker said. “This isn’t about politics. It’s about keeping America running.”

Walker explained that both Democrats and Republicans in the Senate have already agreed on the basic framework. Yet, he said, Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer are blocking progress to score political points at the expense of everyday Americans.

Walker: Democrats Putting Politics Ahead of the American People

Walker didn’t hold back his frustration with Washington’s political class, calling out Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his allies for putting ideology ahead of public service.

“The more people understand what’s happening — that Chuck Schumer and others are keeping the government closed to push their own agenda — the angrier Americans become,” Walker said.

He warned that the impact is already being felt across the country. Millions of families who rely on SNAP food assistance, military pay, and other essential services are now stuck waiting for politicians to do their jobs.

“It’s critical that people in need are able to eat,” he said. “It’s critical that our troops are paid, and that our air traffic controllers and law enforcement officers — the people who keep us safe — can keep working.”

Walker Draws on Experience from Wisconsin

Walker pointed to his own record as Wisconsin governor during the failed rollout of Obamacare, saying he had to step in and create real solutions while Washington failed.

“When Obamacare’s website collapsed, I built a system that protected every Wisconsin resident without taking the risky federal Medicaid expansion,” Walker said. “I wasn’t going to let my people suffer.”

He said the same principle applies now: the government must prioritize stability and safety for American families, not political power plays in Washington.

“Short-term fixes aren’t enough,” Walker added. “We need real bipartisan leadership — not another round of finger-pointing.”

Walker’s Message: Stop the Games, Pass the Resolution, Reopen America

Walker ended his Newsmax interview with a direct challenge to Congress: “Take the yes vote.”

“Pass a clean resolution. Open the government. Stop putting American families at risk,” Walker said. “We can debate future spending later — but keeping this country safe and running should never be up for negotiation.”

Walker’s remarks echo what millions of Americans are already saying: enough is enough. As families struggle and the economy slows, Americans want leadership — not gridlock.
