Trump Unable To Help Farmers?

America’s farmers were about to get long-overdue relief — until Washington politics got in the way again.

A new $12 billion aid program championed by President Donald Trump is ready to launch, designed to help farmers recover from the global trade disruptions and economic strain of recent years. But there’s just one problem: the Biden-era government shutdown is blocking the money from reaching the people who need it most.

💥 Trump’s Farm Relief Ready to Go — But Stuck in Bureaucratic Limbo

Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) revealed that the Market Facilitation Program, modeled after Trump’s earlier $28 billion in aid during his first-term trade wars, is “all teed up and good to go.”

But bureaucrats can’t roll it out until the shutdown ends.

“That’s being held up by the shutdown,” Hoeven told reporters.

The USDA and the Office of Management and Budget already set aside between $12 billion and $13 billion in aid — taxpayer funds meant to protect American farmers and ranchers. Those dollars are sitting in limbo while Washington plays politics.

🇺🇸 Trump’s Trade Deals Keep Delivering for American Farmers

This aid comes on top of billions already flowing in from Trump’s historic trade agreement with China, which is bringing back $10–$15 billion a year in U.S. farm exports — mostly soybeans and agricultural goods.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed Thursday that:

  • China will buy 12 million metric tons of American soybeans this season;
  • Another 25 million metric tons per year for the next three years;
  • And Southeast Asian nations are stepping in to purchase an additional 19 million metric tons of U.S. crops.

That’s real money flowing to rural America — proof that Trump’s America First trade agenda is still working, even as Washington gridlock slows it down.

🚜 Farmers Plead for Immediate Help

While global buyers line up for American crops, family farmers at home are struggling to stay afloat.

The National Farmers Union recently urged Trump and Congress to release aid immediately, warning of a deepening farm crisis.

“Family farmers and ranchers are under immense financial strain and risk an even deeper crisis without swift support,” said NFU President Rob Larew.

The union called for three urgent actions:

  1. Prioritize small and family farms over massive corporate operations.
  2. Crack down on monopolies dominating agriculture markets.
  3. Build new domestic markets to strengthen America’s food independence.

⚠️ The Bottom Line

President Donald J. Trump fought to restore American farming, rebuild exports, and stand up to China. Now, billions in farm relief are trapped in D.C. red tape while hardworking Americans wait for help.

Farmers are watching closely — and they haven’t forgotten who fought for them when no one else would.

Once again, it’s Trump’s America First agenda versus Washington’s dysfunction.
