Former Vice President Kamala Harris is hinting at a political comeback — and conservatives everywhere are rolling their eyes.
After losing in a landslide to President Donald Trump last year, Harris is now teasing a possible 2028 presidential run, calling her defeat merely a “setback.”
In a new BBC interview, Harris vowed she’s “not done” and insisted that public service is “in her bones,” brushing aside the fact that voters overwhelmingly rejected her message.
“I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones,” she told the outlet, before taking another swipe at Trump and calling him a “tyrant.”
A Crushing Defeat She Can’t Let Go
Harris entered the 2024 race only after Joe Biden dropped out following his disastrous debate meltdown. But her campaign failed to gain traction.
She lost the Electoral College 312–226 and trailed Trump by over two million votes — a humiliating loss that even some Democrats said should have ended her political career.
Since then, Harris has mostly disappeared from public life, re-emerging only to promote her new book, “107 Days,” which tries to explain why her campaign collapsed.
In the memoir, she blames Democrat infighting, a lack of donors, and not enough time to “define her message.”
Trying to Rewrite History
Despite being one of the most unpopular vice presidents in modern history, Harris is now hinting at a second chance. Asked by the BBC if her grandnieces might see a woman become president, she replied, “Possibly,” suggesting she could make another run herself.
The Democratic bench for 2028 looks chaotic — with names like Gavin Newsom, Pete Buttigieg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Tim Walz, Bernie Sanders, and JB Pritzker all floated as contenders. Many insiders say it’s shaping up to be another Democrat civil war, with no clear frontrunner and voters fleeing to Trump’s America-First policies.
Doubling Down on Anti-Trump Rhetoric
Rather than reflect on her failures, Harris continues to attack President Trump.
She accused him of “weaponizing” federal agencies and even claimed he influenced Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension after the comedian joked about conservative reactions to the death of Charlie Kirk — a claim that critics quickly dismissed as pure fiction.
“His skin is so thin he couldn’t endure criticism from a joke,” Harris complained, calling Trump “a tyrant” and accusing business leaders of “bending the knee” to him.
White House Fires Back
The Trump administration responded swiftly.
“After Kamala Harris’ landslide defeat, she should have gotten the message,” said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson. “Americans have no patience for her falsehoods — which might explain why she’s venting to foreign outlets instead of facing the people here at home.”
Bottom Line
After one of the worst election defeats in modern history, Kamala Harris seems determined to make a comeback few Americans are asking for.
Meanwhile, President Trump’s approval numbers among conservatives remain sky-high, and the GOP appears united — while Democrats are once again divided and directionless heading into 2028.
