In a new interview with liberal podcast host Marc Maron, Obama scolded Hispanic Americans who voted for President Donald Trump, accusing them of being “tested” for caring more about the cost of living than about left-wing politics.
“If a Hispanic man is frustrated about rising prices and decides that all the talk about Trump doesn’t matter—and later finds his sons being stopped in Los Angeles simply because they appear Latino—that’s a test,” Obama said.

Obama claimed the country’s progressive movement is being “tested” — suggesting that those who reject Democrat policies during tough economic times are somehow failing a moral challenge.
“It was easy to call yourself a progressive when it didn’t cost you anything,” he told Maron. “Now we’re being tested.”

He joked that elite donors might have to “skip remodeling their kitchen in the Hamptons this summer” — a comment that only deepened the divide between the Democratic elite and the average American family struggling to pay bills.
