Trump’s ICE Gets More GOP Support
Washington, D.C. — Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is standing firm behind Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, calling them “heroes” who are “doing the Lord’s work” as President Trump’s immigration policies face renewed attacks from the left.
Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, Jordan defended the men and women of ICE who continue to enforce U.S. law amid growing hostility from progressive activists and Democrat-run sanctuary cities.
“ICE agents are doing the Lord’s work,” Jordan declared. “They’re carrying out what President Trump promised the American people when he ran for office—and he won in a big way because of it.”
Standing Up for Law and Order
Jordan condemned liberal sanctuary jurisdictions that block cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, warning that their reckless policies are putting American lives in danger.
“In many of these ICE-free zones, officials refuse to work with federal agents,” Jordan said. “They release violent offenders back into the community instead of handing them over to ICE.”
Conservatives argue that these left-wing cities are creating safe havens for criminals while law-abiding Americans pay the price.
Trump’s Border Enforcement Under Fire
Since beginning his second term, President Trump has intensified his crackdown on illegal immigration—restoring strong borders, rebuilding ICE morale, and prioritizing American safety. Democrats, meanwhile, continue to attack his administration’s methods, claiming they are “too aggressive.”
But Jordan and fellow Republicans say the President is simply doing what voters demanded—defending the rule of law and protecting American families.
Viral Video Sparks Controversy
A recent viral video reignited the immigration debate when an ICE officer used a pepper ball to disperse a protester blocking a federal vehicle outside a Chicago-area processing center. Critics quickly condemned the action, but federal officials defended the officer’s response.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin explained on X (formerly Twitter) that the short clip circulating online left out critical context.
“What the video doesn’t show,” McLaughlin wrote, “is that agitators were blocking an ICE vehicle from leaving the federal facility—obstructing operations. Our officers acted lawfully to clear the path and continue their duties.”
Lawsuits and Political Pressure
Despite the administration’s defense, left-wing organizations including the ACLU of Colorado have filed lawsuits against federal officials, alleging unlawful arrests of migrants.
Republicans, however, say this is yet another attempt by liberal activists to weaken national security and undermine President Trump’s success at the border.
“Every lawsuit, every protest, every misleading video—it’s all part of the same strategy to stop President Trump from doing what works,” one GOP source told The Daily Patriot.
Americans Back the Mission
Across the country, conservatives are rallying behind ICE officers and the Trump administration’s commitment to border security. Many see these agents as unsung heroes—risking their lives daily to keep communities safe while the mainstream media vilifies them.
As Jordan put it, “They’re doing their duty—and they’re doing it with courage, honor, and faith.”
