Trump Strengthens The GOP
Sen. Eric Schmitt (R-Mo.) says President Donald Trump has given Republicans the backbone and courage to push back against Democrats on border security, crime, and reckless government spending.
Speaking on The Chris Salcedo Show, Schmitt credited Trump with reshaping the GOP into a fighting force. “President Trump taught us we can’t back down. We must fight — and you’re seeing Republicans do exactly that,” Schmitt said.
The Shutdown Battle: Democrats to Blame
Schmitt blasted Democrats over the funding standoff in Congress, making clear that Republicans will never agree to taxpayer-funded health care for illegal immigrants.
“We’ve got a clean continuing resolution that buys us seven weeks. If Chuck Schumer wants a shutdown, it’s the Schumer shutdown. Democrats own it,” Schmitt declared.
Trump’s Success on Law and Order
The Missouri senator praised Trump’s record on crime and immigration. In Washington, D.C., carjackings have dropped by 75% and robberies by 50% under tougher enforcement.
“Trump proved law enforcement works when criminals are prosecuted, not pampered,” Schmitt said. “And he sealed the border, prioritized deportations, and showed that bold action gets results.”
The Future: Republicans Ready to Win
Schmitt said Trump’s leadership ensures the GOP is ready for the future.
“Our best days are ahead because President Trump gave us the courage to fight. Democrats want to tear this country down — but Republicans are standing up to save it,” Schmitt said.
