Kamala Harris thought she had it all figured out.

In her new book, 107 Days, the failed Democrat candidate reveals just how confident she was about taking over the White House in 2024.

According to Harris, she had already tapped longtime Democrat insider Denis McDonough to serve as her chief of staff. The decision was made in October 2024—weeks before voters even had their say.

McDonough isn’t new to Washington politics. He worked as Barack Obama’s chief of staff and later ran Joe Biden’s Department of Veterans Affairs. Harris praised him as a no-nonsense operator who would keep her West Wing “disciplined.”

But discipline couldn’t save Harris from what came next: a crushing defeat at the hands of Donald J. Trump.

“We’d planned for everything, it seemed, except the actual result,” Harris admitted in her memoir.

Harris Planned the Party Before the Votes Were Counted

Her book shows just how out of touch the Harris campaign had become. Harris described planning for nearly every possible scenario: Trump declaring victory early, a long ballot count, even “violent rejection” from Trump supporters if she won.

But one thing she didn’t prepare for? Losing.

Inside her campaign headquarters, staff had ordered champagne and decorated cupcakes with the words “Madame President.” Harris’ social secretary, realizing the disaster, scraped off the icing and tried to pass the cupcakes off as ordinary desserts.

Trump didn’t just beat Harris. He ruined the celebration—and the cupcakes.

Trump’s Commanding Victory

When the ballots were counted, Trump secured a commanding win: 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 226. Harris’ run lasted only 107 days—the shortest modern presidential campaign in American history.

Her downfall wasn’t just about bad strategy. It was about arrogance, entitlement, and a Democrat establishment that thought the presidency belonged to them.

The Lesson Harris Refuses to Learn

Harris wanted her book to be a story of resilience, but instead it reads like a cautionary tale. She assumed voters would embrace her just because the Democrat machine lined up behind her. Instead, everyday Americans made their voices heard—and they chose Donald Trump.

While Harris was hiding cupcakes, Trump was winning states and securing a mandate.

And that’s the real story: the American people still want leadership, strength, and results—not pre-written victory parties.
