Trump Declares DC Crime Free
President Donald Trump just declared Washington, D.C. a “Crime Free Zone” — and the numbers prove him right.
After unleashing a federal surge of law enforcement, crime in the nation’s capital has collapsed, with violent crime plunging by nearly 40% and carjackings dropping an astonishing 82%. Trump says this proves his America First law-and-order policies work—and he’s challenging Democrat-run cities to follow his lead.
Trump Praises Bowser, Slams Other Democrats
In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump praised D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser for working with his administration. He said her decision to cooperate has made her “very popular” because residents see real results.
“Wow! Mayor Muriel Bowser of D.C. has become very popular because she worked with me and my great people in bringing CRIME down to virtually NOTHING in D.C.,” Trump wrote.
But he didn’t hold back on blasting other Democrats who refuse to act. Trump ripped Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, California Gov. Gavin “Newscum” Newsom, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson—saying they waste time defending criminals instead of protecting citizens.
“Washington, D.C. is NOW a CRIME FREE ZONE… Wouldn’t it be nice to say that about Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and even Baltimore? It can happen FAST—if they work with us!!!”
Shocking Crime Statistics Show Trump’s Surge Worked
The results since Trump’s August 7 crackdown are jaw-dropping:
- Overall crime down 14%
- Violent crime down 39%
- Homicides down 58%
- Robberies down 57%
- Sex abuse cases down 40%
- Carjackings down 82%
Property crimes also plunged: burglaries fell 49%, car thefts dropped 35%, and thefts from vehicles went down 8%. Meanwhile, police arrests shot up 25% and firearm seizures increased 20%.
Even Mayor Bowser admitted the surge worked:
“As carjackings, gun crimes, homicides, and robberies decline, our communities not only feel safer—they truly are safer,” Bowser said.
Will Chicago Be Next?
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem hinted that Chicago could be next in line for a federal crackdown. Speaking on CBS, she confirmed that more resources are being sent to Illinois.
“We do intend to add more resources to those operations,” Noem said, noting that ICE already has ongoing missions in Chicago.
The Trump team’s message is clear: when cities work with Washington, crime collapses. When Democrat leaders refuse, chaos continues.
Trump closed his post with a warning and a victory lap:
“Credit to Mayor Muriel Bowser—but stay away from the woke nonsense. Washington, D.C. is a HUGE WIN that should last forever!”
