DeSantis Calls Out Newsom
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling out California Gov. Gavin Newsom for spending more time trolling President Trump on social media than fixing the disasters plaguing his own state.
Appearing on Fox News’s Hannity, DeSantis was asked if he’d face off with Newsom in another debate. DeSantis didn’t hold back.
“I think he’s settled into being a troller of President Trump,” DeSantis said. “It may get him some applause from the radical Left, but most Americans see the truth—California is collapsing. Homelessness, sky-high taxes, businesses fleeing, people can’t even rebuild after disasters. Why not solve that instead of trying to be cute with the President of the United States?”
Newsom has recently tried copying Trump’s famous online style—posting in all caps and borrowing phrases like “beautiful.” He even bragged that he has “no regrets” about the trolling, claiming it’s a way to “fight fire with fire.”
But critics say Newsom’s obsession with Trump is a distraction from California’s real problems: crime, soaring costs of living, and record numbers of families packing up and leaving for red states like Florida and Texas.
DeSantis’s message was blunt—Americans want real leadership, not a liberal governor playing Twitter games while his state spirals out of control.
