Democrat Praises Newsom For Copying Trump
California Governor Gavin Newsom is making headlines again — but not for solving his state’s soaring crime, homelessness, or tax problems. Instead, he’s now copying President Donald Trump’s iconic social media style, posting in ALL CAPS in a desperate bid for attention.
And who rushed to defend him? None other than Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) — the Democrat best known for his scandalous ties to a Chinese spy nicknamed Fang Fang.
Newsom Copies Trump’s Style
During an interview on CNN, Swalwell bizarrely praised Newsom’s stunt, calling it a “teaching moment” and claiming it shows Americans the kind of “leader” President Trump is. He admitted the posts were “silly” and “cheeky,” but insisted it was Newsom “going on offense.”
On Newsom’s official press office page, the governor has started posting in all capital letters — clearly imitating Trump’s signature Truth Social style.
One of Newsom’s posts mocked Trump’s historic meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska:
“TRUMP JUST FLED THE PODIUM WITH PUTIN — NO QUESTIONS, NOTHING! TOTAL LOW ENERGY…”
Instead of focusing on California’s collapsing infrastructure, Newsom is busy playing Twitter games.
Democrats in Disarray
Newsom’s social media shift comes as he pushes a controversial redistricting scheme in California, attempting to counter Republican-led reforms in Texas. At a rally, he repeatedly told Americans to “wake up” — warning about “fear” and “anxiety.”
But critics say it’s just another distraction tactic. While Newsom plays political theater, California families are paying the highest gas prices in the nation and watching businesses flee the state.
White House Fires Back
Even the Trump White House isn’t taking Newsom’s performance seriously. Spokeswoman Abigail Jackson ripped into both Newsom and Swalwell, mocking the credibility of Trump’s critics.
“You know you’re in trouble,” Jackson said, “when Fang Fang’s ex-boyfriend — who can’t even bench 50 pounds — is the one endorsing your social media strategy. Big yikes.”
