Jeffries also blasted several of President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement measures, including:

• Courtroom arrests of those facing deportation
• Transfers of migrants to secure facilities overseas

The contrast is clear. Under Joe Biden, Republicans impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for refusing to enforce immigration law. He was accused of violating the Secure Fence Act of 2006 by failing to detain migrants who crossed illegally.

But Democrats in the Senate protected Mayorkas, ignoring the historic border crisis that endangered American communities.
