Trump means business.

The Trump administration has taken bold action to protect American citizens by revoking more than 6,000 student visas in 2025. The sweeping move targets individuals who overstayed their visas, broke U.S. laws, or were linked to terrorism — including supporters of Hamas.

Trump’s America First Policy Restores Law and Order

President Trump promised to restore safety and accountability, and his latest immigration crackdown shows he’s delivering. The State Department confirmed that thousands of foreign nationals lost their visas this year after engaging in criminal activity or violating national security standards.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio explained that the administration is carefully reviewing student visas, especially after incidents where foreign students joined disruptive pro-Palestinian protests on U.S. campuses.

Visa Revocations Target Criminals and Terror Sympathizers

A senior State Department official revealed that:

  • About 4,000 visas were revoked due to lawbreaking, including DUIs, burglary, and assault.
  • Roughly 800 students lost visas for assault-related arrests or charges.
  • 200 to 300 students had visas pulled for fundraising or activity tied to Hamas, a U.S.-designated terrorist group.

“Every single student visa revoked under President Trump has been tied directly to illegal activity or support for terrorism,” the official stated.

Trump vs. Biden: The Stark Numbers

The difference between administrations is striking. In 2025 alone, the Trump administration has revoked approximately 40,000 visas overall. Under Joe Biden, only 16,000 visas were revoked in the same timeframe.

Rubio told Congress that “thousands” of student visas have already been rescinded since January — and warned that more action is coming to protect U.S. schools from foreign disruption.

Democrats Defend Foreign Nationals Over Americans

As expected, Democrats are pushing back. Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) claimed that Trump’s policy attacks “due process.” But critics argue Merkley is ignoring the obvious: a student visa is a privilege, not a right. Unlike a green card, it does not guarantee permanent residency, and violating U.S. law means losing access to America.

Backed by Trump’s Executive Orders

The crackdown follows President Trump’s January executive orders requiring maximum vetting of foreign nationals. These orders direct the State Department, Department of Homeland Security, and intelligence agencies to block anyone posing a risk to America’s security.

Another order specifically targeted antisemitic harassment and violence, mandating that offenders face the full weight of U.S. law.

Trump Keeps His Promise: America First

By revoking the visas of criminals and terror sympathizers, President Trump has once again proven that he is putting American safety and sovereignty first. This decisive action stands in sharp contrast to the weak enforcement and open-border policies of the Biden era.
