Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed on Sunday that federal authorities arrested 68 suspects overnight in Washington, D.C., as part of President Donald Trump’s bold crackdown on violent crime in the nation’s capital. The sweep comes after Trump took the unprecedented step of federalizing the D.C. police force and deploying the National Guard to restore order.

Bondi reported that authorities have already made more than 300 arrests in the capital, successfully removing violent offenders from the streets. Not surprisingly, Democrats and their allies in the media are furious. Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) slammed Trump’s actions as a “stunt” on NBC’s Meet the Press, trying to deflect by raising unrelated issues such as healthcare and conspiracy claims about Epstein files.

But while Democrats complain, residents are seeing real results. White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller noted that graffiti and blight are already being removed, writing: “Graffiti left untouched is the visual declaration of a society’s surrender.”

Washington, D.C. has faced skyrocketing crime — homicides, carjackings, and drug violence — while Democrat leadership failed to act. According to a White House official, Saturday night’s operation involved 1,800 officers from federal and local agencies. While the National Guard is not yet making arrests, they stand ready to back up police as the crackdown expands.
