President Donald Trump’s border security agenda just got a major boost — three more states are officially partnering with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to crack down on illegal immigration, stop the deadly fentanyl flood, and protect American communities.
West Virginia Declares Itself an “Effective Border State”
West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey is launching one of the most aggressive anti-illegal immigration programs in the country under the 287(g) authority championed by Trump. This partnership enlists the West Virginia State Police, Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, and the National Guard to help ICE detain, process, and deport illegal immigrants.
West Virginia has one of the highest drug overdose death rates in America, driven by fentanyl pouring across the southern border. Morrisey is making it clear who’s to blame:
“Under Joe Biden, millions have entered illegally — and we have no idea who they are or if they’re dangerous,” Morrisey told Fox News Digital. “West Virginia has become a border state because of the fentanyl crisis caused by open borders.”
The new powers allow West Virginia law enforcement to:
- Question and detain suspected illegal immigrants
- Make warrantless arrests when necessary
- Serve immigration warrants and collect fingerprints
- Issue detainers and hold criminal aliens for ICE
South Dakota’s “Operation Prairie Thunder” Targets Criminal Aliens
In South Dakota, Gov. Larry Rhoden is rolling out “Operation Prairie Thunder” — a public safety mission to smash gang activity, stop drug trafficking, and assist ICE in removing dangerous illegal immigrants.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol will help ICE with arrests, the National Guard will handle processing, and state corrections officers will identify and transfer criminal illegals to federal custody.
“Our mission is simple — secure the border, deport criminals, and keep South Dakotans safe,” Rhoden said.
Arkansas Cracks Down with ‘Defense Against Criminal Illegals Act’
Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is taking it a step further with a tough new law increasing penalties for violent felonies committed by illegal immigrants. The law empowers sheriffs and state police to work directly with ICE under 287(g) and even stop people in public to check immigration status.
Troopers will undergo federal training on immigration law, civil rights, and compliance before engaging in enforcement.
“Arkansas will not tolerate violent, criminal illegals,” Sanders said. “We’re working hand-in-hand with President Trump’s administration to protect our people.”
