People are waking up.
Philadelphia politics just got rocked. A lifelong Democrat is walking away from the party and joining forces with President Donald Trump’s MAGA movement to take down the city’s radical, Soros-funded prosecutor.
Former Judge Patrick Dugan, a respected figure in the city’s Far Northeast, announced this weekend that he’s officially running as a Republican to unseat Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner—a progressive prosecutor whose policies critics say have fueled skyrocketing crime, emboldened criminals, and left law-abiding citizens in fear.
Dugan’s move comes as President Trump doubles down on his law-and-order agenda. Just this week, Trump temporarily took control of Washington, D.C.’s police department under the 1973 Home Rule Act, citing violent crime rates he compared to some of the world’s most dangerous capitals.
A City in Crisis
Krasner’s record is infamous:
- Declining to prosecute marijuana possession and certain prostitution cases.
- Dropping charges on repeat offenders.
- Soft sentencing that lets violent criminals back onto the streets.
“Philadelphians see the truth—more shootings, more drugs, more victims, and more criminals walking free. Krasner’s record is failure, and he can’t defend it,” Dugan said.
Even Philadelphia’s Democrat machine is fuming. Party boss Bob Brady called Dugan a “disgrace” and officially kicked him out. But to many voters fed up with crime, that’s a sign he’s on the right track.
Republicans See a Real Chance
Philadelphia GOP Chair Vince Fenerty said the city finally has “a real choice” between law and order and criminal coddling. State Sen. Joe Picozzi, who shocked Pennsylvania by flipping a deep-blue district in 2024, called Dugan “a proven leader” and vowed to make “firing Larry Krasner” a top priority.
Krasner, meanwhile, has dismissed the criticism, accusing Dugan of cozying up to Republicans. But since Krasner took office, Philadelphia has endured years of bloodshed and chaos—prompting many residents to say enough is enough.
Trump’s Warning Rings True
President Trump has long called Krasner “the worst district attorney in America” and urged voters to elect a prosecutor who will enforce the law. Now, Dugan says he’s ready to do exactly that.
“I cannot stand by and watch Mr. Krasner’s failed policies keep our city hostage. This fall, every Philadelphian—Republican, Democrat, or Independent—has a choice for safety and common sense,” Dugan declared.
With crime dominating headlines and Democrats losing ground in urban strongholds, Dugan’s switch could signal a growing trend—fed-up voters leaving the left to join Trump’s fight for safer streets.
Bottom line: Philadelphia’s DA race just became a national showdown over crime, justice, and the future of America’s cities.
It is about time democrats woke to the way they are doing things by showing total disregard for the rule of law and the constitution.
