Democrats could derail Trump’s ties to a key state.

Maryland’s only Republican congressman is warning that Democrats are plotting a redistricting move that could erase the state’s last link to President Donald Trump’s White House — and silence millions of conservative voters.

Maryland’s Lone Republican Sounds the Alarm

Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) says that as the state’s only Republican in Congress, he serves as Maryland’s direct bridge to the Trump administration and the GOP-led House. If Democrats redraw the lines, he warns, that bridge will be destroyed.

“If Maryland becomes an all-Democrat delegation, we lose any voice with President Trump and his team,” Harris told Fox News Digital. “I don’t believe the people of Maryland will stand for it.”

Nationwide Redistricting War Heats Up

Maryland’s brewing fight is part of a coast-to-coast battle over congressional control. Texas Republicans are advancing a new map that could deliver up to five more GOP seats — a major boost to Trump’s House majority.

In retaliation, Democrat-run California and New York are considering their own aggressive map changes, bypassing so-called “independent” commissions to secure even more safe blue districts.

Governor Wes Moore’s (D-MD) office says it is “evaluating all options” and slammed Texas’ plan as a “power grab.” But Harris says the left started this war long ago.

“Democrats Lit the Fuse”

“The governor talks bipartisanship, but forcing single-party control isn’t bipartisan — it’s raw politics,” Harris said. “Democrats tried this in 2022, and the courts struck it down. I think they’d lose again.”

He pointed to Alabama, where Democrats and activist groups used lawsuits to carve out an extra Democrat-leaning district under the 1965 Voting Rights Act. That move gave Democrats two majority-Black districts in a state that had long voted solid red.

Trump’s Census Plan Could Change Everything

While Harris says he’s cautious about mid-cycle redistricting, he’s fully behind President Trump’s push for a snap census that excludes illegal immigrants from the population count.

“If we weren’t counting illegal aliens, Democrats would lose 10 to 15 House seats — maybe more,” Harris said. “That’s a fact every American needs to understand.”

The Stakes for 2026 and Beyond

With control of Congress — and the direction of the country — hanging in the balance, Harris warns that Maryland voters must wake up before it’s too late.

“If Democrats succeed here, it will be open season on conservative representation across the country,” Harris said. “This isn’t just about Maryland. It’s about the survival of a two-party system.”
