Schiff Must Be Investigated — The American People Deserve Answers
California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff — one of the most vocal and relentless critics of President Donald J. Trump — is now the subject of a bombshell criminal referral involving alleged mortgage fraud. The longtime Trump antagonist, who once led the charge on false Russia collusion narratives, is now facing serious legal scrutiny.
Schiff Referred for Criminal Probe in Alleged Mortgage Fraud Scheme
In a stunning revelation, William Pulte, Director of the U.S. Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), mailed a formal letter in May to Trump AG Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche. The letter urges the Justice Department to launch a criminal investigation into Schiff’s suspected fraudulent mortgage activities.
Schiff, who owns properties in California and Maryland, is accused of manipulating bank documents and lying about his residency to secure more favorable loan terms — a potential violation of federal laws.
“Adam B. Schiff has, on several occasions, manipulated bank documents and property records to secure better loan terms,” Pulte wrote. “These actions spanned from 2003 to 2019 and raise major concerns about the security and integrity of the U.S. mortgage market.”
Mortgage Fraud Allegations: What Schiff Is Accused Of
According to documents obtained by Fox News, Schiff may have committed wire fraud, mail fraud, and bank fraud by misrepresenting his primary residence on mortgage applications. Schiff reportedly declared his Maryland home as his primary residence — while simultaneously serving in Congress as a representative from California.
Between 2003 and 2013, Schiff signed multiple documents tied to a Fannie Mae-backed mortgage, attesting that his Potomac, Maryland, home was his full-time residence. This allowed him to lock in a $610,000 mortgage at 5.625% interest on an $870,000 home.
But here’s the problem: Schiff was representing California’s 30th Congressional District the entire time.
Even more damning, Schiff didn’t reclassify the Potomac property as a “secondary residence” until 2020 — long after securing the favorable terms. At the same time, Schiff claimed a California homeowner’s exemption for a Burbank condo, further muddying the waters.
President Trump Demands Justice: “Schiff Is a Fraud”
President Donald J. Trump, now in his second term, is not letting this go unnoticed.
“I’ve long believed that Shifty Adam Schiff was a fraud,” President Trump wrote on TRUTH Social. “Now, Fannie Mae’s Financial Crimes Division has determined that Schiff was involved in a continuous scheme of potential mortgage fraud. Mortgage fraud is a serious offense — and dishonest Adam Schiff must be held accountable.”
The President’s remarks have reignited calls for a full-scale investigation and potential criminal prosecution.
Mortgage Fraud Hurts Every American
Fraud against financial institutions doesn’t just impact banks — it hits American taxpayers, retirees, and veterans who rely on a stable housing market. If Schiff’s alleged deception goes unpunished, what message does that send?
This case raises deeper questions: How many other members of Congress are manipulating the system for personal gain?
Schiff Fires Back — But Will It Work This Time?
As expected, Schiff has denied any wrongdoing and is accusing President Trump of waging a “smear campaign.” In a video statement, Schiff claimed the allegations are politically motivated and meritless.
“It’s been one baseless attack after another,” Schiff said. “This is nothing new.”
But with a mountain of documents, federal housing agencies raising red flags, and President Trump calling for immediate accountability, this scandal may be impossible to spin away.
Is This the Beginning of the End for Schiff?
The investigation is ongoing, but one thing is clear: The American people are demanding answers. Under the leadership of President Trump, the Justice Department is under renewed pressure to restore trust and root out corruption at every level — even if it leads to a high-ranking Democrat like Adam Schiff.
