Democrat Senators Criticize ICE for Wearing Masks During Operations

In a strongly worded letter to Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, a group of Senate Democrats complained about agents operating without uniforms and while wearing protective face coverings. The lawmakers argued that these tactics are “chaotic” and accused ICE of following “arbitrary quotas” tied to former Trump adviser Stephen Miller, a key architect of America’s border security revival.

But to many Americans—especially those concerned about illegal immigration and public safety—these accusations come across as just the latest attempt by the radical left to discredit the brave men and women who enforce our immigration laws.

The senators went so far as to accuse ICE agents of “storming courthouses,” arresting individuals “off the street,” and conducting “sweeps through restaurants”—common enforcement strategies long used by law enforcement to target criminal illegal aliens and protect communities.

“Carrying out arrests in plainclothes, without visible name tags or agency identification, and wearing masks that conceal their faces, appears to be a deliberate move to evade accountability,” the letter alleged.

Critics say this kind of rhetoric only emboldens anti-police sentiment and further endangers federal agents already facing skyrocketing risks on the job.

White House Press Secretary Abigail Jackson pushed back hard against the Democrats’ claims, stating:

“This reckless smear campaign puts real lives at risk. Because of inflammatory rhetoric from the far left, assaults on ICE agents have jumped nearly 700% this year.”
