Trump Says He’s Commandeered What?
In true Trump fashion, President Donald J. Trump has put his unmistakable stamp on the historic White House Cabinet Room — and he did it with a bold redesign, personal flair, and a little humor that had his entire Cabinet laughing.
During a recent meeting, the 45th president proudly showcased the room’s makeover, which now features hand-selected portraits of some of America’s most iconic leaders — including George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Dwight Eisenhower, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“I picked every one of these portraits myself,” Trump told his team. “The room used to have some pretty weak art. Now it reflects real strength, real leadership.”
But one detail in particular caught attention — a stately grandfather clock sitting in the corner. As it turns out, that clock has a story of its own.
“I was in Secretary Marco Rubio’s office and saw this gorgeous clock,” Trump explained. “I said, ‘Marco, I love that clock. I’ve got to have it in the Cabinet Room.’”
Rubio didn’t notice it at first, but Trump playfully reminded him of an executive perk.
“As president, if I see something in another department I like — Treasury, State, Commerce — I can take it. That’s the rule,” Trump said to laughter around the table. “So I made sure that clock found its new home right here.”
The light-hearted exchange highlighted what Trump called “the beauty of presidential privilege” — using good judgment, common sense, and a touch of humor to refresh Washington’s most important spaces.
“And let me tell you,” he added with a grin, “it’s one incredible clock.”
Once again, President Trump proves that leadership isn’t just about policy — it’s about presence, pride in American history, and yes, even great taste in décor.
