Trump’s Megabill Gets Great News

In a bold show of confidence, President Trump’s former budget chief Russell Vought praised the GOP’s latest legislative victory, calling it a “home run with no downsides” during an interview on Fox Business with Larry Kudlow.

“There’s no downside to this bill—it’s all good,” Vought said, referring to the massive Republican-led budget overhaul that cements key parts of the Trump economic agenda.

Vought, who served as Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Trump, was instrumental in guiding the bill to passage. He helped persuade key fiscal conservatives to support the legislation, despite concerns about its cost. His leadership helped deliver what many are calling a landmark win for the America First movement.

The bill makes permanent many of the Trump-era tax cuts and introduces powerful new tax deductions for seniors, working-class families, and service industry workers. It provides long-overdue financial relief to millions of Americans who’ve been burdened by high taxes and inflation.

It also includes a historic $170 billion investment in border security and immigration enforcement—a top priority for President Trump and millions of Americans concerned about national sovereignty, drug trafficking, and illegal migration.

In addition, the legislation takes serious aim at wasteful government spending, with targeted cuts to bloated welfare programs like Medicaid and food stamps. While liberal critics have attacked the bill, claiming it favors job creators and retirees over entitlement recipients, supporters see it as restoring balance and rewarding work, not dependency.

Some analysts, including the Cato Institute and Congressional Budget Office, have warned about long-term debt impacts, projecting between $3.4 trillion and $6 trillion in added costs. But conservatives argue the bill will spark economic growth, job creation, and a return to fiscal sanity through pro-growth policies.

“This is the message we’ll be taking directly to the American people,” Vought said. “Every part of this bill helps rebuild a stronger, freer, more prosperous America.”
