Trump’s New Deal Get Major Applause

President Donald Trump is once again proving that strong leadership delivers results. In a major economic victory, the United States has secured a new trade agreement with Vietnam that top White House officials are calling “incredibly favorable” to American interests.

Stephen Miran, Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisors, praised the deal during an interview on ABC News’ This Week, saying it overwhelmingly benefits the U.S. economy, American manufacturers, and job creators.

“The Vietnam deal was extraordinary,” Miran said. “It’s heavily one-sided in America’s favor. We get to impose a 20% tariff on Vietnamese exports, while Vietnam gives our goods zero-tariff access to their markets. It’s a huge win for the United States.”

The agreement is part of President Trump’s broader effort to restore fairness in international trade and end the decades of bad deals made by globalist politicians. By leveling the playing field, Trump is putting American workers, farmers, and small business owners first.

The deal also takes direct aim at China’s long-standing tactic of shipping goods through third-party countries to dodge U.S. tariffs. Under the new rules, any product that originates from a country with a high tariff rate—such as China—but is rerouted through Vietnam, will be hit with a 40% tariff. This closes a major loophole and sends a clear message: trade fraud won’t be tolerated.

Miran noted that several additional trade agreements are in progress, as President Trump approaches his July 9 deadline.

“Other countries are negotiating in good faith,” he said. “We expect more deals soon, but President Trump is committed to getting the best possible outcome for the American people.”

This historic agreement with Vietnam showcases Trump’s economic strategy in action—putting America First, protecting U.S. jobs, and making sure our trade partners play by the rules.
