President Trump slams Putin for prolonging Biden’s war — vows to put America First.
Trump Calls Out Putin After Disappointing Call
President Donald J. Trump voiced sharp frustration Friday after a direct conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed no movement toward peace in Ukraine. Speaking after a pre–Independence Day rally in Iowa, Trump didn’t mince words:
“I’m very disappointed with President Putin. He’s not ready to stop. That’s the truth. And it’s unfortunate.”
Trump added that the situation is yet another mess left behind by Joe Biden, saying, “It’s Biden’s war, and I got stuck in the middle — just like with immigration, the border, the economy — all disasters I’ve had to deal with.”
Putin Refuses to Back Down
According to Russian state media, Putin reiterated during the hour-long call that Moscow has no plans to retreat. He insisted that peace talks must include recognition of Russia’s territorial gains in Eastern Ukraine — something Ukraine’s leadership and the West have refused to accept.
Trump confirmed that his efforts to negotiate had hit a wall:
“I didn’t make any progress at all.”
Trump Freezes Biden’s Weapons Pipeline
Earlier this week, the Trump administration announced a pause in new arms shipments to Ukraine, citing concerns about U.S. military stockpiles.
“Biden gave away our weapons. We’re making sure America is protected first,” Trump said.
Despite the pause, Trump reaffirmed his support for Ukraine’s defense, noting he’s still exploring options — including sending more Patriot missile systems.
Zelensky Praises Trump’s Leadership
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Trump on social media after a follow-up call on Friday:
“President Trump is well informed and understands Ukraine’s defense needs. We’re grateful for the continued support.”
The two leaders also agreed to arrange meetings between their teams to explore air defense strategies.
Russia Launches Record-Breaking Attack
Overnight, Russian forces launched the largest aerial assault on Kyiv to date — deploying over 500 drones and 11 missiles in a single wave. At least 23 people were injured in the barrage, underscoring the urgency of the situation.
Congress Pushes Sanctions While Trump Urges Caution
Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for stronger sanctions against Moscow. But the Trump administration is advising a measured approach, warning that overly aggressive sanctions could derail diplomatic progress.
“We’re focused on peace through strength — not endless war,” a senior Trump official noted.
Bottom Line: Trump Navigates Biden’s Foreign Policy Failures
As the war drags on, President Trump is once again forced to clean up a global crisis of Joe Biden’s making. While Putin digs in and missiles rain down, Trump is working to protect American interests, secure our military resources, and reassert leadership on the world stage.
