Obama’s Marriage Over?
Washington, D.C. — Former First Lady Michelle Obama is finally speaking out about the ongoing rumors of marital trouble with former President Barack Obama. In a recent interview, Michelle dismissed the tabloid speculation, saying the public won’t know “what we’re doing every minute of the day.”
Appearing on NPR’s “Wild Card,” Obama acknowledged that even the most minor detail about her personal life tends to make headlines.
“Even at this stage of life, when Barack and I say anything—right or wrong—it gets covered,” she said.
The rumor mill ignited again after Michelle was noticeably absent from public events and photos with her husband. Speculation about their relationship grew louder, with some media outlets suggesting the couple may be facing serious issues behind the scenes.
Michelle responded directly, stating,
“Just because I’m not photographed on a date with my husband doesn’t mean our marriage is over. That’s how crazy it’s gotten.”
With a sarcastic grin, Obama repeated a comment from the interviewer:
“It’s the apocalypse,” she laughed. “Because we’re not on Instagram 24/7.”
“We’re Not 20. We’re 60.”
The former first lady emphasized that she and Barack Obama live a more private life now.
“We’re 60. We don’t take selfies. We don’t post everything we do on social media. That’s not who we are.”
Obama reminded listeners that their generation doesn’t revolve around online attention. She noted that the media obsession with their relationship is often driven by unrealistic expectations about visibility and celebrity.
Media Speculation Isn’t New
This isn’t the first time Michelle Obama has been forced to respond to rumors of a failing marriage. Back in January, she raised eyebrows when she didn’t attend President Trump’s 2017 inauguration, prompting critics to question the stability of her relationship with Barack.
In a separate interview, she joked:
“If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it.”
The Obamas have been married since 1992 and have two daughters. While critics and media outlets often dig into their personal life, Michelle made it clear they’re simply living outside the spotlight.
