Is Trump Responsible For Israel-Iran War?

Democrats Calls On Trump To Use Bipartisan Support

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A bipartisan push is gaining momentum on Capitol Hill as lawmakers urge President Donald J. Trump to deliver a powerful response to escalating threats from Russia and Iran—two of America’s most dangerous adversaries.

On CBS News’ Face the Nation, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) called on the president to immediately back a new wave of economic sanctions aimed at crippling Moscow’s war machine. The move comes amid growing concerns over Russia’s continued aggression in Ukraine.

“This moment cries out for presidential leadership,” Blumenthal said. “There is an urgency here.”

He was joined by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a staunch national security hawk. Together, they are championing a new bipartisan bill that would impose secondary sanctions on Russia—a bold measure targeting nations that still trade with Vladimir Putin’s regime.

Trump Urged to Act Before G7 Summit

Blumenthal stressed that President Trump must act now, ahead of the upcoming G7 Summit in Alberta, Canada.

“Right now, the perception may be one of weakness. He has a chance to flip that entirely,” Blumenthal said. “With strong sanctions, he can sit across from world leaders in a position of strength.”

Senators Stand With Israel as Conflict With Iran Escalates

The conversation quickly turned to the Middle East, where Israel is locked in a deadly conflict with Iran—a regime known for backing terror and racing toward a nuclear bomb.

Graham was clear in his warning:

“I urge President Trump to go all in. When this operation ends, there should be nothing left of Iran’s nuclear program.”

Blumenthal agreed, calling Iran’s nuclear ambitions “an unacceptable threat to the U.S., Israel, and the free world.” He also voiced concerns for American troops and civilians in the region, urging immediate action to protect U.S. interests abroad.

“Israel has every right to defend itself against this existential menace,” he said.

Time to Squeeze Iran and Pressure China

Both senators agreed: It’s time to tighten the screws on Iran’s economy. Sanctions must be increased. Oil revenues must be cut.

Graham made a direct appeal to China, saying:

“China, if you’re listening—stop buying Russian oil. Stop helping Iran. The world becomes safer when you stop funding our enemies.”

He then turned to Blumenthal and added:

“I’ll be your wingman. We can write this bill right now.”

America First, Strength Abroad

Conservatives nationwide are watching closely as President Trump weighs his next move. After four years of weakness under Biden, Americans are ready to see decisive leadership, real consequences for rogue regimes, and a foreign policy grounded in strength, not surrender.

With U.S. troops at risk, Israel under threat, and China emboldened, the time for talk is over. Now is the time for action.
