Leftover Failures From the Biden Era Spark Mayhem Under Trump’s Watch
A violent breakout at the Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey, has left four illegal migrants on the loose — and raised serious questions about lingering weaknesses in the immigration system President Trump inherited.
The Thursday evening escape followed a massive internal disturbance involving over 50 detainees, according to a senior Department of Homeland Security official. Fox News confirmed that a BOLO (Be On the Lookout) alert was issued, and additional federal and local law enforcement were immediately deployed.
“We are coordinating a full response to apprehend the escapees and restore full order,” the official said.
Facility Breach Linked to Meal Delays and Weak Infrastructure
Immigration attorney Mustafa Cetin told NJ.com that the unrest began when detainees became enraged over delayed meals. A group reportedly pushed through a weak dormitory wall, triggering a violent and chaotic scene.
“It’s about the food… some detainees were getting aggressive, and it turned violent,” Cetin said.
One detainee described the wall as “not very strong” and said migrants were hanging bedsheets — likely as part of an escape plan. Witnesses also reported a gas smell, adding further alarm to the situation.
Heavy Police Deployment, Gas Exposure, and Protesters Complicate Trump-Era Crackdown
By 6:00 p.m., Essex County Sheriff’s deputies and Newark Police were on the ground in force. Rutgers professor Whitney Strub, near the scene, said he and others began coughing after exposure to what he believed was some kind of gas.
Later that night, chaos escalated further when left-wing protesters blocked law enforcement vehicles, preventing officers from leaving the facility during a critical phase of the response. Multiple eyewitnesses reported seeing the escapees running near Turnpike 78 and Delancey Street.
Democrats Lash Out at ICE While Trump Administration Cracks Down
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka — a frequent critic of immigration enforcement — used the opportunity to attack ICE and the private contractor managing Delaney Hall. In a statement, Baraka accused the facility of operating without oversight and violating constitutional rights.
“Private prisons pose a real problem… we demand immediate answers,” he said.
This outcry comes just two days after Democrat Rep. LaMonica McIver was indicted on federal charges related to a previous, unauthorized visit to the same facility. She had accompanied Mayor Baraka during what they claimed was an “oversight” visit. Baraka was briefly charged with trespassing, but the charge was later dropped.
Trump Administration Responds: National Security Comes First
While the Delaney Hall facility itself remains a holdover from the pre-Trump era, this incident underscores why President Trump has made restoring order at the border a top national priority. His administration is already moving to investigate the structural and management failures behind the escape.
This episode is yet another reminder of how Biden-era neglect and open-border policies left America vulnerable — and why the current administration is focused on law, order, and national sovereignty.
Public Asked to Remain Alert
The escaped migrants are still at large. Law enforcement urges all citizens to remain vigilant.

Bottom Line: Trump Is Cleaning Up the Border Mess — But It Takes Time
Incidents like this reflect just how much damage was done before President Trump returned to the White House. From crumbling facilities to unchecked illegal crossings, the country is still grappling with the consequences of failed progressive policies.
But under Trump’s leadership, Americans once again have a Commander-in-Chief who takes border security seriously — and who’s committed to restoring order and accountability, no matter how deep the problems run.
Just shoot them and save the taxpayers billions of dollars they are all criminals and should be treated like felons period. all democrats should be put in prison for creating this major problem in our country they are disgraceful people. They are all mouth and not one of the sponsor any of them because they don’t want them in their own neighborhoods. Defund congress salaries immediately.
