Pentagon Deploys The Marines

The Trump administration is taking decisive action to restore law and order in California. In response to escalating unrest, the U.S. military is deploying 700 active-duty Marines to Los Angeles, joining 2,000 National Guard troops already on the ground. The move was confirmed Monday by U.S. Northern Command and signals a serious effort to stop violent protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

A Bold Stand for Border Security and Federal Authority

These Marines—members of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines out of Twentynine Palms—will assist in protecting federal buildings, law enforcement officers, and critical infrastructure. Northern Command reports the troops are trained in de-escalation, crowd control, and strict use-of-force protocols, ensuring a professional response to growing threats.

Defense Secretary: “We Will Defend Our Officers”

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who placed the Marines on standby over the weekend, said the deployment was triggered by increased threats to federal agents and property in the region.

“In response to rising threats against federal officers and government facilities, around 700 active-duty Marines from Camp Pendleton are being sent to Los Angeles to help restore stability,” Hegseth shared on X.

He added a pointed message to California Governor Gavin Newsom:

“It’s our duty to protect federal law enforcement, regardless of Governor Newsom’s refusal to do so.”

Newsom Responds with Lawsuit and Accusations

In typical fashion, Governor Newsom’s office lashed out, calling the deployment “unprecedented” and accusing the administration of using the U.S. military against its own citizens.

“Mobilizing the best in class branch of the U.S. military against its own citizens is completely unwarranted,” Newsom’s press office posted.

Newsom has also filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, claiming the use of troops in California is “unlawful.” He argues the situation only escalated once federal forces arrived—an assertion many conservatives find unconvincing.

Trump: “These Are Agitators. They Belong in Jail.”

President Trump, speaking Monday, made no apologies. He stressed that the violent demonstrations were not organic but led by professional agitators and radical left-wing activists.

“The ones stirring up the chaos are not ordinary protesters — they’re trained agitators and radical disruptors. These individuals are dangerous and belong behind bars.”

When asked about Newsom’s refusal to cooperate, Trump didn’t hold back—suggesting even arresting the governor could be on the table if he continues to obstruct federal law enforcement efforts.

Restoring Law, Order, and Respect for America

This marks only the second time in 60 years that a president has mobilized National Guard troops without a governor’s approval. For many Americans, especially those who value border security, public safety, and respect for law enforcement, Trump’s leadership is a welcome return to common sense and constitutional authority.

While California’s far-left leadership cries foul, the American people see the truth: President Trump is standing up for the rule of law, even when blue-state officials try to tear it down.
