China Learning From Russia War?

As tensions escalate in Asia, one former top U.S. diplomat says the stakes for America’s future couldn’t be higher.

China Is Watching—and Waiting

Former Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who served under multiple Democrat administrations, warned this week that Communist China is closely monitoring the world’s reaction to Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine—and using it as a test case for how far it can go with Taiwan.

“China is studying the West’s response,” Sherman told NewsNation. “They want to know if anyone will actually stand up to them.”

Trump Administration Sounded Alarm on Taiwan Threat

Last month, the Trump administration issued a direct warning to Beijing after China carried out surprise military exercises in the waters and airspace surrounding Taiwan. The aggressive move, without prior notice, raised alarms throughout the Indo-Pacific region.

While China insists Taiwan belongs to them, the truth is that Taiwan is a free, independently governed democracy—and a vital partner of the United States. Taiwan is also the backbone of the global semiconductor supply chain, which powers everything from smartphones to military defense systems.

If China Invades Taiwan, America Pays the Price

“Just like Putin claims Ukraine, China thinks it can take Taiwan and its semiconductors without consequence,” Sherman warned. “That’s a major threat to our national security.”

China-Taiwan tensions continue to rise, and many experts agree: a weak global response to Ukraine could embolden Beijing.

Ukraine War: Still No End in Sight

Despite President Trump’s efforts to encourage peace, the war in Ukraine has raged on for over three years. While both sides recently participated in a prisoner exchange in Turkey, Russia wasted no time launching more drone and missile attacks, crushing hopes for immediate peace.

On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky made a desperate appeal to the U.S., Europe, and freedom-loving nations to take stronger action against Russian aggression.

What’s at Stake for the United States

For patriotic Americans—especially those who lived through the Cold War and understand the threat of communism—the signs are clear:

  • A rising China is testing the waters.
  • The free world’s silence sends the wrong message.
  • Taiwan’s fall would be a blow to U.S. strength, technology, and credibility.

Protecting America’s Future Starts Now

If China takes Taiwan, it’s not just Asia’s problem—it’s America’s. The national security consequences, economic fallout, and global instability would be staggering.

President Trump’s tough stance on China was never more necessary.
