Here’s what seniors should know.
President Trump’s new Social Security Commissioner, Frank Bisignano, is taking swift action to clean up the agency, crack down on fraud and abuse, and secure America’s retirement benefits for generations to come.
In a recent interview, Bisignano made clear he’s fully aligned with President Trump’s mission: protect seniors, stop government waste, and safeguard the benefits Americans have earned through a lifetime of hard work.
“I’m honored to be part of the team President Trump has assembled,” Bisignano said on Sunday Morning Futures. “Protecting the safety and security of Social Security is our top priority.”
Cracking Down on Fraud, Preserving the Trust Fund
Bisignano will join top-level officials—including the Secretaries of Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services—to review the Social Security Trust Fund’s long-term health.
He made it clear: the Trump administration has no interest in dismantling Social Security. The goal is to secure it—permanently.
“This is a 90-year-old institution,” he said. “We have no intention of breaking a system that millions depend on. We’re going to strengthen it, improve it, and make sure it’s here for the next 90 years.”
Securing Social Security Numbers and Stopping Identity Theft
Bisignano emphasized one major vulnerability: the misuse and theft of Social Security numbers.
He warned that improper payments—currently at a 1% error rate—represent not just wasted money, but a serious threat to Americans’ financial security.
“If your bank made a 1% mistake with your money, you’d be outraged,” he said. “We’re going to shut down the loopholes that allow fraud and abuse.”
Trump’s Team: “The Best That’s Ever Been Assembled”
Despite baseless attacks from Democrat leaders like Chuck Schumer—who accused Bisignano of being a “slash and burn” executive—the commissioner remains focused on results.
“When Washington insiders panic, it means real reform is coming,” one Trump ally said. “That’s why President Trump brought in someone with real-world business experience.”
Bisignano brushed off the attacks, reaffirming that the real job is protecting taxpayer money and ensuring every dollar goes to the people who earned it.
Fighting for Seniors—and the Future of Social Security
Bisignano believes Americans deserve a Social Security system that’s safe, secure, and built to last.
“We’re going to fix what’s broken,” he said. “Not just for today’s seniors—but for future generations of hardworking Americans.”
With President Trump leading the charge, and strong, reform-minded leaders in place, Social Security is on a path to long-term solvency, transparency, and accountability.
