Unpopular Democrat Announces Run

The battle for Texas is heating up again — and former Democrat Rep. Beto O’Rourke is floating the idea of another Senate run.

Speaking to voters at a town hall in Denton, Texas, O’Rourke said he would consider challenging Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) if enough Texans demand it.

“If this is truly what the people of Texas want, and if it’s the best way I can serve, then yes, I’ll do it,” O’Rourke said.

O’Rourke is no stranger to Texas politics. In 2018, he ran against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), losing by less than 3 points in a race flooded with out-of-state Democrat money. Two years later, he launched a failed bid for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, struggling to gain traction even among liberal voters.

Now, as Texas voters prepare for another critical election, the political stakes are higher than ever.

Ken Paxton Challenges Cornyn: A Conservative Shake-Up

Meanwhile, the Texas Republican primary is shaping up to be a fight for the soul of the party. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) recently announced his campaign to unseat Cornyn, vowing to defend President Trump’s America First agenda.

“It’s time for a real conservative senator who will fight for Texas values and support Donald Trump where it matters most,” Paxton said during an appearance on Fox News.

Paxton praised Sen. Ted Cruz as a “great conservative leader” and promised to bring the same bold, unapologetic spirit to Washington.

His campaign is energizing grassroots conservatives frustrated with establishment Republicans who too often cave to the radical left.

Cornyn’s Team Hits Back Hard

Cornyn’s campaign wasted no time hitting back. A spokesperson labeled Paxton a “fraud” and warned that Democrats, led by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, are determined to flip Texas and weaken President Trump’s influence.

“President Trump needs battle-tested conservatives who won’t get rolled by Chuck Schumer,” Cornyn’s team said.

As the Texas Senate race draws national attention, the showdown between Ken Paxton and John Cornyn could set the stage for a battle against Beto O’Rourke — a liberal favorite still dreaming of flipping Texas blue.

But with Texas voters increasingly rallying behind strong, pro-Trump leadership, O’Rourke’s chances of success look slimmer than ever.

One thing is certain: conservatives are ready to fight to keep Texas red — and to send a message to Washington that the Lone Star State stands with Trump.
