Ocasio-Cortez Gains More Support
Former GOP Candidate Scherie Murray Warns: The Left Has No Clear Leader — So They’re Turning to a Socialist
As the Democrat Party heads into the 2028 election cycle, many are asking: Who’s in charge? According to Scherie Murray, a former Republican challenger to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a proud voice in the Black Americans for Trump Coalition, the answer is more troubling than expected.
“They don’t have a leader,” Murray said on Newsmax’s Sunday Report. “So they’re turning to the loudest voice they have — even if that voice is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.”
AOC: The Left’s Best Messenger in a Leadership Vacuum
Murray argued that most Americans don’t want AOC at the top of the ticket. But Democrats, she says, are “propping her up” simply because she’s their best-known messenger in an otherwise fractured party.
Her comments came in response to a new Yale University poll showing Vice President Kamala Harris and AOC as the top two potential Democrat candidates for 2028. Harris only leads by a narrow margin — despite her near-absence from public life since the chaotic Biden years.
Kamala Harris: From VP to “Has-Been”
“She’s being called Has-been Harris now,” Murray said. “She faded away after failing to deliver, and now she’s trying to make a quiet comeback.”
But the bigger concern, according to Murray, is what it says about the state of the Democrat Party — that their leading choices are a failed vice president and a radical socialist with no real experience outside of political activism and social media posturing.
Murray: AOC’s Radicalism Is No Match for Real American Values
In 2019, Murray ran for Congress in New York’s 14th District against AOC — and she says she received massive support from conservatives across the country.
“The Democrat Party no longer has an identity rooted in American values,” Murray said. “If they’re seriously looking at AOC as their future, it shows just how far left they’ve gone.”
The Hypocrisy of the Socialist Elite
Murray also took aim at the “Fighting Oligarchy” tour led by Sen. Bernie Sanders and AOC — a nationwide campaign supposedly designed to speak out against corporate greed and billionaire influence.
But here’s the kicker: they’re flying private jets.
“That’s the rich irony,” Murray pointed out. “AOC has raised over $9 million while flying coast-to-coast in luxury. This isn’t fighting oligarchy — it’s cashing in on socialism.”
Conservatives Sound the Alarm for 2028
As 2028 looms, many on the Right are warning voters: The Democrats are doubling down on socialism and identity politics. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump and his allies are focused on restoring American greatness — securing the border, defending traditional values, and bringing back law and order.
“The American people are smarter than the Left thinks,” Murray said. “And when faced with a choice between Trump’s leadership and AOC’s radicalism, they’ll choose common sense every time.”
