During a “Fighting Oligarchy” tour stop in Nampa, Idaho, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) spoke to a crowd of over 12,000 attendees. She was joined by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a longtime democratic socialist ally. But instead of policy, it was her voice that made headlines.

A short clip circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), where conservatives accused the congresswoman of deliberately changing her accent to appeal to the audience.

“Oh look, AOC is doing the interchangeable accents to fit the demographic she’s in front of,” conservative commentator Gunther Eagleman posted. “Did she take notes from Kamala?”

“Kamala Harris just introduced yet another new accent. Sike, this is AOC,” added Benny Johnson, another prominent conservative voice.

“Why do they do this?” asked Townhall.com, noting the eerie similarity to Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaign trail antics.
