Homan Rushes To Trump’s Defense
Washington, D.C. – Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan is backing the Trump administration’s strong immigration enforcement policies, following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that orders the federal government to facilitate the return of a man wrongly deported to El Salvador.
The individual in question, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, had crossed into the U.S. illegally — a federal crime. During a Newsmax interview Friday, Homan responded bluntly: “We made the right decision.”
🔹 “He’s an MS-13 gang member, according to our intelligence and that of El Salvador’s government,” said Homan.
🔹 “He came here illegally. He was granted withholding only due to gang violence fears, not because he deserves to stay.”
Homan emphasized that Abrego Garcia is a Salvadoran national, currently in custody in El Salvador, and that while the U.S. will assist, it won’t override the legal authority of another sovereign nation.
Supreme Court Clarifies Federal Role — “Facilitate, Not Effectuate”
In its decision this week, the Supreme Court ordered the administration to assist in the return process, but drew a clear line: the U.S. must facilitate the return, not guarantee it.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt clarified the ruling for the press:
“The Court said we must help — but not carry out — the return. We will comply accordingly.”
The Court also instructed the administration to report specific steps to a lower court judge, explaining how it plans to support the return process without infringing on foreign authority.
Federal Judge Slams DOJ Over ‘Illegal’ Deportation
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis sharply criticized the Justice Department, calling the deportation “wholly illegal” and accusing federal officials of knowingly violating the law.
“Defendants have been on notice,” Xinis wrote, blasting the DOJ’s delay in outlining next steps as “blinking at reality.”
The Trump administration previously admitted the deportation was an “administrative error,” but continues to argue that once in foreign custody, U.S. courts cannot demand a return.
President Trump Responds: “I Respect the Supreme Court”
Speaking aboard Air Force One, President Trump reaffirmed his commitment to the rule of law and respect for the judiciary:
“If the Supreme Court says bring him back, we’ll follow that. I respect the Court.”
This comes just days after the Court handed Trump another legal win, upholding the use of the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to fast-track deportations of non-citizens deemed a threat to national security.
🚨 Why This Matters to America First Supporters
As crime, cartel activity, and illegal border crossings spike under the Biden administration, many Americans are demanding a return to strong, no-nonsense immigration enforcement.
The Trump-era approach — backed by law enforcement veterans like Homan — sends a clear message:
Illegal entry is a crime. Gang affiliations won’t be ignored. National sovereignty matters.
This is why Trump’s border strategy continues to resonate with seniors, veterans, and law-abiding citizens across the country.
