Democrats Issues New Demand To Trump
A group of Senate Democrats is pressuring President Trump to reverse the removal of two Democratic members of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)—a move they claim disrupts the agency’s operations.
Democrats Push Back, Claiming Overreach
In a strongly worded letter, over two dozen lawmakers argued that the dismissals threaten the FTC’s independence and accused Trump of exceeding presidential authority.
📌 Key Claim: “This action contradicts long-standing Supreme Court precedent and undermines Congress’s authority to create bipartisan, independent commissions,” the senators wrote.
🔹 The letter was spearheaded by Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), and Sen. Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and was signed by more than two dozen Democrats—including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who caucuses with the party.
Left-Wing Outrage & Big Tech Connections
The fired commissioners, Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Kelly Slaughter, claim their removal was illegal.
Notably, the FTC is investigating major tech giants, including Meta and Amazon—companies whose executives have recently tried to repair ties with Trump through donations and meetings at Mar-a-Lago.
💡 Why It Matters: Some Democrats allege that the firings are a favor to Big Tech. However, Trump’s administration argues that the FTC must be held accountable and free from partisan influence.
Trump’s Administration Stands Firm
The White House is not backing down.
🔹 Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated: “The time was right to let these people go.”
🔹 White House Press Assistant Taylor Rogers added: “President Trump has the lawful authority to manage personnel within the executive branch. He will continue to remove bad actors unaligned with his common-sense agenda—the agenda the American people decisively voted for.”
💭 What’s Next? One of the ousted commissioners, Alvaro Bedoya, has vowed to sue the Trump administration. However, the White House is ready to defend the decision in court.
Trump’s Fight Against the Bureaucracy Continues
Despite backlash from the left, Trump remains committed to draining the swamp and ensuring that independent agencies remain accountable to the American people.
✅ What do you think? Should the FTC be allowed to operate without oversight?
