Trump Speaks On Recently Injured Lawmaker
President Donald Trump recently shared his well-wishes for Senator Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.) after the lawmaker sustained a serious head injury from slipping on ice during a trip home. In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed his sympathy for Cramer’s condition, noting that while the senator is now resting, he “went through a lot” after the fall.
“Senator Kevin Cramer, a great friend and leader from North Dakota, recently slipped on ice and hit his head, resulting in a significant injury. He is now resting comfortably, but it was a very close call,” Trump wrote. “His amazing wife, Kris, was right there with him, and I am sure he will recover, but it was a tough situation.”
Trump continued, thanking Kris for her quick thinking and calm response in the face of the accident. “Get well soon, Kevin, and thank you to Kris for her quick and very alert reaction to this difficult moment,” he added.
Senator Cramer, 64, had revealed the details of his injury in a post on social media, sharing that he had suffered a concussion and a minor brain bleed after slipping on the ice on Sunday. He described falling “hard” and hitting the back of his head, which caused him to lose memory of the event until he found himself at the Sanford Health emergency room with his wife by his side. After undergoing multiple tests and a CT scan, doctors diagnosed him with a severe concussion, seizure, and slight brain bleed.
Despite the severity of the incident, Cramer updated his supporters on Monday, saying that while he still has some headaches, he is recovering and feeling better. However, doctors have advised him to take it easy for a while longer, and it remains uncertain when he will return to Washington.
Cramer, who has represented North Dakota in the Senate since 2019, is currently serving his second term after winning reelection in November against his Democratic challenger. His strong leadership and dedication to North Dakota have earned him widespread respect among Republicans across the country. His resilience and determination are already showing as he looks forward to returning to his duties in the Senate.
